How to Work In Channels in Microsoft Teams
Try it!
Team conversations take place in channels:
- Every member of the team has access to the standard channels.
- Those who are invited to private channels are the only ones who can access them.
Hold a meeting in a channel
- Using the Calendar tool, select New Meeting > Select Channels > Choose a channel from the list to add to the meeting.
- Details should be added.
- Click Send.
- Choosing Join on a channel meeting will allow you to join an ongoing discussion.
Work with messages in a channel
There is a Posts tab in a channel where team members can post messages and replies. It is possible for you to:

Co-edit a file and view channel info
Create a channel for your teammates to collaborate with one another:
- If you would like to send a file with your message, please attach it.
- Your team can comment on the file and edit it together.
- On the right-hand side of the window, you will find the following options:
- I would like to add a new member to my team.
- Check out the current members of the team.
- View apps.
Pin and unpin a channel
If you would like quick access to a channel, you can pin it to your teams list.
- Choose More options (…) > Pin from the channel you wish to pin.
- Unpinning it can be done by selecting More options (…) > Unpinning from the menu.
