Importing keys and positions using a CSV file in zoom
Users and administrators of Zoom Phone can import a CSV file into Zoom Phone to describe the line keys and positions of the supported desk phones. You can make a CSV template for a variety of phone users and/or common area phones, then imported it to each one and it will be able to set up the line keys and positions automatically, rather than manually setting up each line for each device. A CSV file can also be imported by phone users in order to specify the keys and positions of their desk phones.

Available key types for CSV import
In order to import keys and positions for a single user, the following key types can be specified:

Line

When importing keys for multiple users, you will have the option to specify the types of keys to import:

How to access line key settings
Admin
It is possible for Zoom Phone admins to access the setting for the desk phones and the phones located in common areas for Zoom Phone users.

Zoom’s web portal can be accessed by logging in.

Using the navigation menu on the left hand side of the screen, click Phone System Management, then select Users & Rooms.

Choose either the User Phones or the Common Area Phones tab on the left side of the screen.

Select the name of the phone user or the phone in the common area by clicking on it.

Go to the User Settings tab or the Settings tab on the left hand side of the screen.

Select View or Edit in the Keys & Positions section on the left hand side of the screen.

It is possible for you as a phone user to access the settings for your own desk phone by using the line key.

Zoom’s web portal can be accessed by logging in.

Please click on the phone icon.

Go to the Settings tab and click on it.

To view or edit the keys and positions, click on the View or Edit button under Keys and Positions.
How to import line keys and positions for a single user

As an administrator or user, you will be able to access line key settings.

In order to export a CSV file containing information about the positions and keys currently provisioned, click Export (Optional).
Note: The CSV file can be edited then imported to modify the key and positions; or you could use it as a reference for formatting the CSV file after importing the CSV file. Do not change the row in the CSV file for any keys that you do not wish to change. -
If you click Import, a sample CSV file will be downloaded or you can import keys/positions by using a CSV file to import them.

CSV Sample is a sample CSV file that will allow you to download sample fields/attributes from the CSV file and see if the fields/attributes are acceptable. Learn more about the fields for line key settings.

It is recommended to use spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel to enter all the information in the exported CSV file or sample CSV file.

Click Upload CSV on the Zoom web portal once you have returned there.

Choose a CSV file that you would like to import.
In the event that an error is encountered, the rule check will be performed and any error messages will be displayed. -
Upon successfully importing the CSV file, you will be prompted to click Close.
In the web portal, there will be an update to the keys and positions table. As a result of these keys and positions being added, any existing keys and positions for this user will be overwritten.
How to import line keys and positions for multiple users

As an administrator, you can access the settings for line keys.

Select Phone System Management from the navigation menu and then click Users & Rooms to open the Users & Rooms section.

Then click the Import button.

The Keys and Positions tab can be accessed by clicking on it.

Using the CSV Sample button, you will be able to download a CSV with example fields and attributes, and you will be able to view acceptable fields and attributes. Learn more about the fields for line key settings.

It is recommended to use spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel to enter all the information in the exported CSV file or sample CSV file.

Click Upload CSV on the Zoom web portal once you have returned there.

The import will be done by selecting a CSV file.
As a result of the rule checking, any errors that are encountered will be displayed with an error message. -
Click Close if the CSV file has been imported successfully.
In the web portal, the keys and positions table will be updated in accordance with this change. Keys and positions will be added/appended to those already used.
