Inviting by phone and calling from Zoom Rooms

During a Zoom meeting in a Zoom Room, you can call a telephone user to invite them. For a non-Zoom meeting, you can also call a phone number for a 1-on-1 call.

Prerequisites for inviting by phone and calling from Zoom Rooms

• Inviting by phone while in a meeting
  • Audio Plan add-on for Zoom Rooms
• Calling a phone number from Zoom Rooms (one of the following is required)
  • SIP phone integrated with Zoom Rooms
  • Audio Plan add-on for Zoom Rooms
  • Zoom Phone license added to Zoom Rooms

How to invite by phone while in a Zoom Rooms meeting

You’ll need the Audio Plan add-on if you want to invite by phone. Invites by phone don’t use Zoom Phone and require the Audio Plan add-on if the Zoom Room has a Zoom Phone license.

1. Zoom Rooms can be used to start or join meetings.
2. On the Zoom Room controller, tap Manage Participants, then tap Invite.
3. Select the Phone option.
4. If you are dialing an international number, tap the number icon at the top left to select a country code.
5. When you are done dialing, tap the phone icon.
6. To view previously-dialed numbers, you can also tap the downward arrow at the top right. Tapping a number displays it.

How to call a phone number from Zoom Rooms

SIP phone integration or Audio Plan add-on

You need to follow these steps if you’ve integrated a SIP phone with Zoom Rooms or if you have the Audio Plan add-on:

1. On the Zoom Rooms controller, tap Phone in the left-side panel.
2. If you are calling an international number, tap the flag icon to select a country code.
3. Tap the phone icon to dial a number.
4. To view previously dialed numbers, you can also tap the icon at the top right. Tap the displayed number to dial it.
5. If you prefer to dial someone from your contacts list, tap the  icon, then tap the contact displayed on the list.

Zoom Phone

Follow these steps if you added a Zoom Room to Zoom Phone:

1. On the Zoom Rooms controller, tap Phone in the left-hand panel.
2. You can make a call using one of the following methods:
   In the lower-right corner, you will see the room’s Zoom Phone extension number and direct phone number (if assigned). Change the Outbound Caller ID option in the room’s phone settings to change the outgoing caller ID.
   • Tap the phone icon after entering a number on the dial pad.
   • By tapping the downward arrow at the top right, you can view previously dialed numbers. To call the number, tap it.
   • The contacts icon displays phones from the same organization. Press the contact’s phone number to make a call.
3. You can use most Zoom Phone in-call controls during a call. You can also adjust the room’s speaker volume by tapping and dragging the volume slider.
   Zoom Room controller cannot be used to start or stop a recording.
