How do you enroll iPads using Apple Business Manager (ABM)?
The public key can be downloaded from the Zoom web portal and then uploaded to ABM as a part of the process for creating a new MDM server. The server token needs to be downloaded from ABM, and then uploaded to Zoom Rooms MDM using the Zoom web portal. As soon as your device has been assigned to the new MDM server you were able to create in ABM, you should return to ABM and add it to the new server. Can I still enroll my iPad using Apple Business Manager (ABM) if my iPad wasn’t purchased from Apple or an authorized reseller?
There was a time when Apple’s Device Enrollment Program (DEP) was the only way users could enroll their devices into a MDM service. If an iPad was not purchased using an Apple Business account and an Apple Business manager (ABM) account, then the user will not be able to use the product. As much as possible, these users should only use Apple Configurator 2 in order to add devices that have iOS 11+ to ABM.
Does my iPad have to be new to be enrolled in Zoom Rooms MDM?
If you choose the individual enrollment option, you will be able to enroll used iPads with ease. As an additional feature, Apple Business Manager can be used to add iOS11+ devices that are compatible with iOS11 to Apple Configurator 2.
How do you unassign an iPad from Zoom Rooms MDM? (Apple Business Manager)
Using Apple Business Manager, it is possible to unassign a device that was enrolled using ABM by navigating to the device’s details page. Choose Device Assignments > Choose the device that you want to unassign. Following that, choose Actions > Unassign. When a device is released from Apple Business Manager, the user may not be able to add the device back in the future. In order for the device to be removed from the ABM server, the device needs to be unassigned from the ABM server. The device can be enrolled again through ABM if you wish, or it can be used as a normal iPad if you choose.
How do you remove an iPad from Zoom Rooms MDM? (Individual)
It is necessary to delete the profile on the iPad in order to remove an iPad that was enrolled individually. In the iPad settings, there is a Zoom Rooms MDM tab under General > Profiles & Device Management. This can be done by going to Zoom Rooms MDM > Remove Management. In this case, you will no longer be able to manage the iPad through Zoom Rooms MDM, as it will be removed from Zoom Rooms MDM. If you wish to reenroll the iPad or use it as it normally is, you can do so.
How do I configure Zoom Rooms MDM features after I’ve enrolled the device?
Zoom Rooms tab on your Zoom web portal allows you to configure the features of your Zoom room.
How much does Zoom Rooms MDM cost?
A Zoom Rooms subscription includes Zoom Rooms MDM for no extra charge, so you do not have to pay for it separately.
What can I try if my Zoom Rooms app didn’t automatically download after successfully enrolling?
It is possible to remove the profile directly from your iPad in its Settings if you installed the device individually from the box. Once the profile is removed, you can rescan the QR code or enter the access code again. The Zoom Rooms app should be downloaded as soon as the profile has been installed.
What can I try if I don’t see my device in the dropdown list when trying to Assign a Room?
If the serial number of your device cannot be entered manually, try entering it manually. As an alternative, I would suggest contacting the support team to verify that the device has not already been assigned to another room if this does not work.
