How do you enroll iPads using Apple Business Manager (ABM)?
The public key can be downloaded from Zoom’s website and uploaded to ABM for the purpose of creating the MDM server in ABM. The server token can be downloaded from ABM and uploaded via the Zoom Rooms MDM web portal to Zoom Rooms. You will need to add the token to your ABM account after you have added the token. You will then need to assign your device to the new MDM server you created. For more in-depth instructions, please refer to your manual.
Can I still enroll my iPad using Apple Business Manager (ABM) if my iPad wasn’t purchased from Apple or an authorized reseller?
Previously, Apple’s Device Enrollment Program (DEP) allowed users to enroll their devices in an MDM service. If an iPad was not purchased using an Apple Business account, users with Apple Business Manager (ABM) will now have restrictions. Apple Configurator 2 is the only way to add iOS 11+ devices to ABM for these users.
Does my iPad have to be new to be enrolled in Zoom Rooms MDM?
The individual enrollment option does not allow you to enroll used iPads. Apple Business Manager also supports configuring iOS11+ devices using Apple Configurator 2.
How do you unassign an iPad from Zoom Rooms MDM? (Apple Business Manager)
You must navigate to Apple Business Manager in order to unassign a device enrolled with ABM. Go to: Device Assignments > Select the Device > Select the Unassign action. There is a possibility that you will not be able to add the device back to Apple Business Manager once it’s been released. If you unassign the device from ABM, the device will be removed from the server. The device can be enrolled again using ABM, or it can be used as an ordinary iPad if you prefer.
How do you remove an iPad from Zoom Rooms MDM? (Individual)
It is necessary to delete the iPad profile on the iPad if an iPad has been enrolled individually. A user can remove management from Zoom Rooms MDM via the iPad’s Settings: > General > Profiles & Device Management > Zoom Rooms MDM > Remove Management. If you do this, you will be unable to manage the iPad any longer with Zoom Rooms MDM, and it will be removed from the system. The iPad can be enrolled again if you wish to do so. You can also use it as you normally would.
How do I configure Zoom Rooms MDM features after I’ve enrolled the device?
On the Zoom web portal, choose the Zoom Rooms tab to configure the features.
How much does Zoom Rooms MDM cost?
Your Zoom Rooms subscription includes Zoom Rooms MDM at no additional cost.
What can I try if my Zoom Rooms app didn’t automatically download after successfully enrolling?
You can remove the profile from the iPad directly in Settings if you installed it separately, then try scanning or entering the QR code again. Zoom Rooms should begin downloading once the profile has been installed.
What can I try if I don’t see my device in the dropdown list when trying to Assign a Room?
The serial number can be manually entered. You can also verify the device hasn’t already been assigned to a room if this does not work.
