Join Microsoft Teams Meetings with Cisco Webex Video Integration for Microsoft Teams
It is possible to join a Microsoft Teams meeting directly from a Webex device, such as a webcam, or from any device in the Personal mode as long as they are invited in the meeting, or by using One Button to Push (OBTP) to dial into the meeting directly from the Webex app.
The Cisco Webex Video Integration for Microsoft Teams or WebRTC technology makes it possible for you to join Microsoft Teams meetings from your Webex device. There are a number of factors that determine how this is set up and it is determined by your system administrators.
In the meeting, the following features will not be available:
-
Two-way Whiteboarding
-
Neither the DX70 nor the DX80 are capable of one-way whiteboarding
-
Control of the far end of the camera
Join with One Button to Push
When the Calendar Service is enabled on a device, One Button to Push will be accessible. When a user schedules a Microsoft Teams meeting and includes Webex devices in the meeting, a join button appears on those devices right before the meeting starts, right before the meeting begins. Users can also join the meeting with one click from the Webex app if there device is paired with it. In either case, you will be able to join the meeting by simply tapping the Join button.
As soon as you are in the meeting, the Webex device demonstrates the video stream from Microsoft Teams on two screens (with a variety of layouts available: grid, stack, overlay, focus, prominent) and enables the call control features. If you would like to know more about Webex Rooms’ video stream layouts, you can check out Webex Rooms | Video Stream Layouts. An overview of the participants is available, as well as an indication of which participants are muted. Once the meeting has been recorded, an indicator will appear on the screen indicating that the meeting has been recorded.
When you share a presentation with someone else, the presentation will be displayed on your device. Despite what is displayed on screen, the content cannot be interacted with.
Join by Dialing into the Meeting
The email invitation for a video conference will include the call-in information to join the video conference if Cisco Webex Video Integration for Microsoft Teams is enabled.
The instructions at the bottom of the email invitation will guide you through entering the SIP video address of your conference as well as the VTC conference ID – either by dialing in the SIP video address or by entering the shorter SIP video address. It is convenient to join a meeting through the VTC conference ID which can be entered on your device after dialing up the shorter SIP video address.
Once you are seated in the meeting room, the Webex device displays a video stream from Microsoft Teams on up to two screens (with an array of layout options: grid, stack, overlay, focus, prominent) along with the control panel for the conference call. See Webex Rooms | Video Stream Layouts if you want more information about how to layout your Webex Rooms. It is possible to view the list of participants, which indicates who has been muted. As soon as the meeting is recorded, an indication appears on the screen.
When you share a presentation with someone else, the presentation will be displayed on your device. On screen content does not provide an interactive environment for the audience.
