Kernel extension changes in macOS High Sierra in zoom App
After enrolling in MDM, now starting with macOS 10.13.4, loading of User Approved Kernel Extensions no longer requires user approval, and extensions previously allowed to load for that reason need to be approved now. MDM, on the other hand, can be used to specify kernel extensions that are not subject to approval. It is required that either the Mac is running macOS 10.13.2 or later, and that the Mac is enrolled in MDM either through DEP, or that the MDM enrollment is user approved.
How to specify kernel extensions with MDM
Listed below is the information you need for the Zoom Rooms Application and Kernel Extension so that your MDM server can approve it
- Display Name: ZOOM Video Communications (U.S.) Inc.
- Team ID: BJ4HAAB9B3
- Extension Path: Extensions/ZoomAudioDevice.kext in /System/Library/Extensions
