Of course, it is used when accepting questions during the lecture, but it is necessary to communicate by chat when troubleshooting situations where the voice cannot be delivered, such as when the other party’s microphone or speaker is out of order. There is.

There is a reason why I dared to post an article about chat at this timing, and the number of people who participate with tablets and smartphones is increasing recently.

If you are not familiar with it, it may be confusing because there are some differences from the PC version.

So, this time, I will introduce how to use Zoom Chat on mobile devices such as iPhone (smartphone) and iPad (tablet).

Use chat with Zoom for PC

I think that the procedure for using chat with the PC version of Zoom has been introduced in this article.

Simply put, once you launch Zoom, click on the chat item in the menu bar to send it.

Let’s look at other patterns.

Use chat with Zoom for smartphone

To use the smartphone version of Zoom, tap the screen lightly while participating.

 

Then a menu will appear at the bottom of the screen.

 

It’s a little hard to see, so I’ll expand the menu below.

 

At first glance, there seems to be no chat in this.

There are two patterns to get out from here.

Tap ” Details ” on the far right .

 

Then a menu will be displayed, so click Chat.

Another way is to tap ” Participants ” with the menu open .

 

Then a list of current participants will be displayed.

Look at the bottom of this screen.

 

There is an item called chat.

Tap this chat button to move to the chat screen.

Then, it is a common chat screen that is displayed from either step from here.

 

At the bottom of the screen, tap “Tap here …” to enter character input mode.

 

Enter the content you want to convey here and tap Send to complete the transmission.

The point to note about the smartphone version is that the other party’s face and materials cannot be seen at all when chat is activated.

So, as a point of caution for those who are in the position of giving lectures, I would like to avoid using chat as much as possible when talks and materials change frequently.

Use chat with Zoom for iPad

Usage on tablets such as iPad is closer to a personal computer than a smartphone.

Previously, the entire screen could not be seen on tablets like smartphones, but it disappeared with some version upgrades.

 

Please tap the screen lightly while participating.

 

The menu will appear in the same way as the smartphone version, so if you tap “Details” here, the following screen will appear.

 

If you tap “Participant”, the following screen will appear.

 

Tap ” Chat ” for each to launch the chat screen.

 

The input method is the same as for smartphones.
