Limitations for paid ticket registration with PayPal
There is no limit to the number of events that can be scheduled on any date by Zoom Event hosts.
As a result of the fact that PayPal is linked to your Zoom Events hub as the online payment platform for your paid event, your event’s paid ticket registration will not be available for attendees until 26 days after the publication date of the event. As a simple example, if a paid event starts on July 27, an attendee will be able to register for it on July 1st and the event will begin on July 27th.
How to manage payments and billing

-
You will be directed to the Payments & Billing page.

You will need to fill out the required information under Billing Address.

Then click on the Save button.
How to manage the PayPal business account dashboard
You will find the PayPal business account dashboard where you will have the ability to manage payment and refunds within your PayPal business account, as well as respond to disputes within your PayPal business account. At a glance, you will also be able to see useful information about the activity on your account.
Fund capture
The transaction will stay pending for two days after the ticket has been purchased with a credit or debit card before the funds are actually captured. If you receive a refund/cancellation during this time period, you will not have to pay any PayPal processing fees as a result of this feature.
Approve or reject refunds
Within 14 days of an event’s end date, refund requests made within Zoom Events can be approved or rejected, depending on whether they were submitted within 14 days.
You need to sign in to your PayPal business account to approve or reject refund requests that have been submitted 15 days or after the event’s end date in order to approve or reject the refund request.
International payments/currencies
You will need to make adjustments in your PayPal account dashboard in order to be able to accept international payments/currencies. You can learn how to make these adjustments by visiting PayPal’s support page, where you will find instructions on how to do so. Three options are available to you, from which you can choose one of them:
-
Accept all international payment/currency types and convert them into the primary currency of your PayPal account if you wish.
-
You will be unable to fulfill the order of the customer if you deny the payment.
-
All international payments and currencies should be accepted and a new holding balance should be created in the respective currency.
Here is a link to PayPal’s support page where you will find detailed instructions and more information.
View chargebacks
Chargebacks happen when a credit card holder files a dispute with the credit card issuer of their credit card, asking the credit card issuer to refund their account for the amount charged on their card.
If you receive a chargeback, there are a number of reasons why you may do so, and you can respond to a chargeback to help resolve the issue; following some simple tips will help to reduce the number of chargebacks received.
Users in the United States will be charged a $15.00 dispute fee for every transaction that they dispute with PayPal. In the event that certain criteria are met, a High Volume Dispute Fee will be assessed.
More information on chargebacks can be found at PayPal.
View reports
As well as viewing reports as a summary, a CSV file can be downloaded in order to see the data itemized for each transaction on the dashboard.
View sales taxes, GST, VAT
The tax rate varies from one region to another. We recommend you visit Zoom Events GST and VAT for more information about indirect taxes in your region and Zoom Events US Taxes for more information about US taxes.
There will be no indirect taxes charged on tickets sold to attendees who are located either in the US or Canada, as the ticket price charged to attendees will exclude indirect taxes. Therefor, if tax is needed to be collected, then the amount will be added to the ticket price and shown to the purchaser during the checkout process. The added tax will be collected by Zoom from the transaction and it will be remitted on your behalf by Zoom.
The ticket price charged to attendees residing outside of the United States of America and Canada will be treated as including indirect taxes when the tickets are sold to attendees residing outside of these countries. In other words, the amounts that you will be remitted after the event are reduced from the ticket price, to the extent that Zoom has been obligated to collect taxes on the amounts charged to the attendees in order to remit the money to you.
-
The Partner commission field in PayPal will be used by Zoom to collect tax from a transaction. The PayPal dashboard is where you can view the transaction details that pertain to sales tax, GST, and VAT as well as other taxes.
-
Hosts are responsible for determining and remitting indirect taxes on the price charged to attendees in cases where Zoom is not required to collect and remit indirect taxes as part of the price charged to attendees.
PayPal payout schedule
In order for your payout to be processed, you will need to close the registration process by the event’s end date, which must take place no later than that date. If a particular event is scheduled to end on the first of January, then the registration deadline must be January 1, and the payout funds will be released five business days after January 1 (January 1 plus five business days).
Note: PayPal is capable of placing a hold on a new merchant account for multiple reasons, and the money may be held in the host’s pending balance for up to 21 days.
A big part of Zoom’s philosophy is to make sure our customers are taken care of and to provide as much support as possible. The main disadvantage of PayPal is that there are certain limitations as well as some issues, such as delayed funds, which may need to be handled by PayPal as well. The issue with your payment can be resolved by contacting PayPal directly.
PayPal fees
Whenever you make a successful charge, PayPal charges a processing fee; the amount can vary depending on where you are located.
Payment methods that are accepted by our company
We accept PayPal payments (Express Checkout) and credit/debit cards through PayPal (Guest Checkout) as two of the ways to pay.
US business account fees for US-based businesses
3.49% + $0.49 per transaction*

Payout Schedule Documentation
Several reasons can lead to a hold on a merchant account with a new client. PayPal holds the funds in the pending balance of some sellers for up to 21 days after they receive payment from a buyer.
If PayPal does not have everything with the business account confirmed, or if PayPal asks the business to provide more information regarding what it is selling, then PayPal will place holds (especially on new accounts that have no processing history) on the account (especially on new accounts).
A paid event can be scheduled to start a number of days before the event itself starts. A paid event can be scheduled to begin on any date that is convenient for you. Attendees will be able to register for the event’s paid tickets 26 days before the event’s scheduled start date. Customer support FAQ’s will be available as soon as they are available.
In order to receive assistance with onboarding a new PayPal customer, please email velocitypartners@paypal.com or call 855-456-1330.
It will be necessary for any merchant who has already processed a payment to contact PayPal’s general support for assistance.
