Manage Permissions For The Slack Analytics Dashboard

By default, all registered users (except visitors) are granted access to analytics. Workspace owners have the option to restrict access to just owners and administrators, if they so want.
- To access your workspace, just navigate to the upper left corner of your desktop screen and click on the designated workspace name.
- Navigate to the menu and choose the option labeled “Settings & administration.” Subsequently, proceed to choose “Workspace settings” from the available choices.
- Please navigate to the Permissions tab.
- Locate the Workspace analytics feature and proceed to select the Expand option.
- Please expand the drop-down selection in order to designate the individuals who will be granted permission to see the analytics.
- Please select the “Save” option.
Pro and Business
By default, all members are granted access to analytics. Workspace owners have the option to restrict access to just owners and administrators, or alternatively, they may choose to disable the Member tab on the analytics dashboard.
To initiate the desired action, please navigate to the upper left corner of your desktop and proceed to click on the designated workspace name.
To access the Workspace settings, please navigate to the menu and select the option labeled “Settings & administration.” From there, proceed to click on the designated tab for Workspace settings.
Please navigate to the Permissions tab.
Locate the Workspace analytics feature and proceed to select the Expand option.
Please expand the drop-down selection in order to designate the individuals who will be granted permission to see the analytics.
To deactivate member analytics, please uncheck the box adjacent to the option labeled “Enable member analytics.”
Please select the “Save” option.

Set an org policy for analytics access
By default, individuals have the ability to access and analyze data pertaining to any workspace to which they are affiliated. Organizational owners have the option to establish an organizational policy that restricts access to the analytics dashboard only to owners and administrators across all workspaces within their organization. Individuals who possess the analytics admin system role have constant access to the analytics dashboard, provided that it has been activated.
- To access your workspace, just navigate to the upper left corner of your desktop and click on the designated workspace name.
- To access the desired options, navigate to the menu and select “Settings & administration.” From there, proceed to click on “Organisation settings.”
- To access the organization policies, navigate to the left sidebar and click on the “Settings” option. From there, choose the “Organisation policies” selection.
- Navigate to the “Permissions” tab.
- Locate the “Workspace analytics” feature and proceed to select the “Add policy” option.
- Please choose the checkbox and then proceed to click on the “Save policy” button.
Enable or disable private channel metrics
Organizational owners have the option to disable the Member tab inside the analytics dashboard for all workspaces in their organization, if they so want.
- To access your workspace, just navigate to the upper left corner of your desktop screen and click on the designated workspace name.
- To access the desired options, navigate to the menu and choose “Settings & administration.” Subsequently, locate and choose “Organisation settings.”
- To access the organization settings, please navigate to the left sidebar and click on “Settings”. From there, you may pick “Organisation settings”.
- Click on the “Edit” option located adjacent to the “Member analytics” feature.
- Please indicate your preference by selecting or deselecting the checkbox adjacent to the option labeled “Enable member analytics,” and thereafter proceed to click the “Save” button.
Please be aware that if you choose to disable member analytics, administrators will no longer have access to utilize the member analytics API for your organization inside the Enterprise Grid.
Enable or disable private channel metrics
Organizational main owners have the option to exercise control over the visibility of private channels in the “Channels” tab of the analytics dashboard across all workspaces within their organization.
To access your workspace, just navigate to the upper left corner of your desktop and click on the designated workspace name.
To access the desired options, navigate to the menu and choose “Settings & administration.” Subsequently, locate and choose “Organisation settings.”
To access the organization settings, please navigate to the left sidebar and click on the “Settings” option. From there, you may pick the “Organisation settings” tab.
Click on the “Edit” option located next to the “Show private channels analytics” feature.
Please choose or deselect the checkbox adjacent to the option “Include private channel data in analytics” and thereafter click on the “Save” button.
Please be advised that the analysis of private channel data is exclusively accessible to owners and administrators with the authority to oversee private channels, and is limited to the Enterprise Grid subscription.
Workspace level
In the absence of an organizational policy, workspace owners have the ability to restrict access to just owners and administrators for the workspaces under their management.

- To access the desired options, navigate to the menu and select “Settings & administration.” Subsequently, locate and click on “Workspace settings.”

- Locate the section on Workspace analytics and proceed to select the option to expand the content.
- Please expand the drop-down selection in order to designate the individuals who will be granted permission to see the analytics.
