Managing Zoom Events session and event types
There is an option for either a meeting session or a webinar session in the event creation flow that the host or event organizer can select. It is useful when the host wishes to invite more than 1,000 participants to an event or if the host wishes for the event to be run in a more controlled environment if more than 1,000 guests will be attending.
You will be able to create Webinars and Meetings as a host and create sessions for them. Events and sessions involving webinars are held on the Zoom Webinars platform, and events and sessions involving meetings are held on the Zoom Meetings platform. Event hosts have the option of choosing the type of event that best suits how they would like their participants to interact and experience the event.
-
There is no way to change an event’s session type back from Meeting to Webinar after the settings have been saved and the session type has been changed.
-
A Zoom Event has a maximum capacity of 200 sessions, which is equal to the maximum capacity of the Zoom Events license. The host of an event, for example, can host a webinar or a meeting in front of up to 1,000 viewers if they have a Zoom Events 1,000 license. Despite the fact that the host has a Zoom Events license that allows for a larger number of attendees, there is still a maximum capacity of 1,000 participants per meeting session.
-
There is a meeting capacity that is determined by the Zoom Meeting license capacity when a meeting is scheduled outside of Zoom Events.

How to choose an event or session type for your attendees
A Webinar event or session is different from a Meeting event or session in terms of the amount of participation that attendees are allowed during the event.
As a result of webinars, hosts are able to present to a larger audience and have more control over the presentation, attendees, and panelists than in traditional webinar sessions. Additionally, Zoom Webinar attendees can use a feature called Webinar Reactions, which allows the presenter to get real-time feedback from the audience as well as other panelists during the webinar.
As a result of the meetings events/sessions, there is a greater chance for attendees and hosts to interact and there are more opportunities to engage. You can customize this type of event/session based on your preferences and those of your attendees.
