March 2022: FAQ on reporting changes in zoom app
Starting March 1, 2022, Zoom will remove email addresses for users flagged as guests from Account Reports and Dashboards as part of our ongoing efforts to implement best-in-class privacy and security practices for all users. This will only apply to users who fulfill any of the following conditions. Your organization will continue to receive email addresses of users on your own account, as usual, in order to manage your account.
Aside from this, you’ll continue to see the following groups of email addresses in both the Reports and Dashboard as well:
-
During the registration process, if the participant entered their email address, then that address will be displayed for the specific webinar or meeting for which the participant registered.
-
There are a number of ways in which the host could provide Zoom with the participants’ email addresses:
-
Zoom’s calendar integrations (Outlook and Google Calendar) allow for participants to be added directly to the calendar invitation/event via one of Zoom’s integrations.
-
As part of the authentication process, the participant had an external profile configured using Single Sign-On technology in order to authenticate themselves.
-
During the authentication exception creation process, the participant’s email address was entered.
-
During the assignment of Breakout Rooms, the participant’s email address was entered into the system.
-
During a webinar, the host imported a file containing the names and contact information of panelists and registrants.
-
In the schedule scheduler, the participant has been added as an interpreter for the host.
-
It is the host’s responsibility to add a participant to his or her meeting schedule as an alternative host.
-
Additionally, Zoom REST APIs will also be updated to reflect these changes for developers as well. Further details can be found in the Developer Changelog. The Developer Changelog includes a list of the APIs and Webhooks which will be affected, as well as any necessary actions you will need to take to avoid any disruptions to your integrations. In order for your Zoom account to be integrated with third party services, please make sure that your Developers have access to this information.
