Mass-deploying with Group Policy Objects in zoom app
There is a Zoom client available for download. If an administrator’s permissions are set to disable, all users who join a meeting will be able to disable features such as screen sharing and video sharing, regardless of whose meeting is being hosted by the administrator. A user can lock certain features and settings upon deployment of a computer program by installing it with a Active Directory Administrative Template or by using registry keys.
Zoom settings and features can be configured at any time by Active Directory admins via Group Policy through Active Directory. For these settings to be configured on the computer, Zoom does not require that it be installed on the computer. You can download Zoom at a later date and the configuration will be applied when Zoom is launched for the first time after your download. This setting applies regardless of whether you use the standard installer or if you use the MSI installer. It is recommended that you update your desktop client or Zoom Rooms client to the latest version so that you are compatible with the policies listed below.
There is also the option of deploying and configuring the Zoom Rooms and Zoom desktop applications via the command-line or via Intune as well.
Through Zoom Device Management, you can enroll the desktop client in and manage it through the Zoom web portal, which gives you the ability to centrally manage the desktop client and mobile app settings.
Note: As a MSI file type, the VDI Host Installer can make use of the same switches as the standard MSI installer for the client that runs on a standard PC. The software can be deployed using the usual management tools used for software and devices. There is no difference between the VDI Client configuration and the non-VDI Client configuration and the VDI Client can be configured in the same way as the non-VDI Client, except for the AutoUpdate setting.
It is possible to install Zoom on your Windows device, Mac OS device, Android device, and iOS device using preconfigured settings. It is also possible to centrally configure settings for Zoom’s desktop client and mobile app via the Device Management platform that is included in its own client.

Active Directory Administrative Template Configuration

Administrating Active Directory is as simple as logging in.

Choosing Active Directory Users and Computers under Administrative Tools from the Start menu will take you there.

Set the group policy for the domain you want to expand.

Group policy settings can be set by right-clicking the domain and selecting Properties, then Group Policy.

Zoom should be the name of the Group Policy Object.

In the Group Policy Object window, select Edit for the newly created object.

The Administrative Templates can be found under Computer Configuration.

Select Add/Remove Templates.

This article contains an administrative template that can be downloaded. Open the file.

The window for adding and removing templates should now be closed.

There should now be a Zoom option under Computer Configuration, then Administrative Templates.

In the Zoom folder, double clicking it will open a list of subfolders, including General Settings, Chat Settings, and Meeting Settings that you can access.

In order to see more details and to enable or disable individual settings, double click on a subfolder. Double clicking on the individual setting will bring up more details and allow you to enable or disable it.
