Microsoft Teams Direct Guest Join in zoom App
Through Microsoft Teams Direct Guest Join, users can remotely join Microsoft Teams meetings from Zoom Rooms without being required to install any additional infrastructure or purchase additional licenses. In the past, it was complicated and required third-party services to connect to Microsoft Teams meetings.

Prerequisites for Microsoft Teams Direct Guest Join
- Owners of accounts, admins, and roles with edit access to Zoom Rooms
- For Windows version 5.6 and higher
- And Zoom Rooms for Mac version 5.6
- As well as Zoom Rooms controller version 5.6
- Google calendar integration, Office 365 integration, Exchange 2010 integration, Exchange 2013 integration, etc.
How to enable or disable Support 3rd party conferencing dial-in for Zoom Rooms
All users on the account can enable or disable 3rd party dial-in support for Zoom Rooms by following these steps:
- Admins with the ability to edit account settings should log into the Zoom web portal.
- To access Zoom Rooms, click Rooms in the navigation menu.
- Select Settings from the Account menu.
- Select Meetings.
- You will see an option to Support Third-Party Conferencing Dial-in for Zoom Rooms under Zoom Rooms
and you will be able to toggle between these two options. - You can verify the change by clicking Enable or Disable if a verification dialog appears.
- The user should click the lock icon, and then click Lock to confirm the setting if they wish to make this setting mandatory for all users in the account.
- If you want to enable Microsoft Teams Direct Guest Join on Zoom Rooms, you have to select the Support Microsoft Teams web client meeting checkbox.
Note: - Zoom Rooms versions 5.5.0 or later are required to make use of this feature. Zoom Rooms for Android does not support network audio, and it does not support network audio if you are using an Android phone.
How to join a Zoom meeting
- You can forward the calendar invitation to a Zoom Room to join a Microsoft Teams meeting.
Zoom Rooms controller will display a Join option once it receives the meeting invitation. - Click Join to join.
The following controls are available in meetings: Muting Microphone, Start/Stop Video, Volume, and leaving meetings.
Note: - Microsoft Teams is required to share user content. In a Microsoft Teams call through Direct Guest Join, Zoom Room does not support wireless sharing.
Troubleshooting
Zoom Rooms users who are using Office 365 for their Zoom Rooms calendar integration may not see the Join option on the Zoom Rooms controller. In this case, ensure that the “delete comments” option in your Office 365 settings is set to “False”.
Microsoft Teams Direct Guest Join will not be accessible to users who are utilizing link filtering services that do not display the original URL to the room resource mailbox. In order for a joining button to appear in Zoom Rooms, the original link must be entered.
