Mute other participants in meetings on Board, Desk, and Room Series in webex
Your Cisco device allows you to mute anyone in the meeting in order to ensure that everyone stays on topic during the meeting.
Everyone participating in a Webex meeting has the option to mute other participants.
There are two people that have the ability to muffle others during Webex meetings or personal room meetings.
If you are on a one-on-one call with someone else, you will also have the option of muting them.
Once someone has been muted, you cannot unmute them unless they unmute themselves and then you can unmute them again. A host or co-host, however, can request a participant to unmute by going to the participant list directly and asking for it. You will be able to unmute the participant by tapping on their name and selecting Request unmute. Upon receiving a notification from the system, a participant is asked to unmute themselves.
Board, Desk, Room Series
- The Participants button can be accessed in the call control panel on your device or on a touch controller if you are in a meeting or a call.
- You will be able to tap on a participant. Once you have selected Mute audio, you will see the following screen.

DX, MX, SX Series
- Go to your device’s home screen or the control panel on your touch controller’s home screen when you are in a meeting or a call.
- If you would like to mute a participant, tap their name and select the mute audio option.
