No Audio During VoIP Conference
Cause:
If you have verified that the device is properly selected in the meeting Computer Audio Settings and have performed all of the basic troubleshooting steps, but you are still unable to hear sounds in Webex Audio after clicking Connect to Audio or Connect Audio and Video, then it is possible that the ‘Windows Audio’ service is not operating as it should be in your computer.
Solution:
To restart the Windows Audio service, please do the following:
1 In the space that says “Type here to search,” which is located on the taskbar, type “services.msc.”
2 Hit Enter.
3 Scroll down to Windows Audio in the list of services that has been provided.
4 Select the Restart option from the context menu after right-clicking on the service.
5 After the restart has been finished, you should perform another test of the audio in your meeting.
Notes:
- There is a possibility that this is connected to the sound card or the drivers for the audio device. When an audio-related halt occurs in Windows, you can clear it by restarting the Windows Audio service. This will also restore the sound.
- In order for the audio device to be reflected in the audio test, it will first need to be identified. It is possible that the audio device is still being utilized, or that it is being used by a different software that is running on the user’s computer. This would explain why the audio device is not showing up in the device list.
- Check to see if the bar in the Presenter’s microphone that represents the microphone is green and moving in the Participant’s panel:
In that case, the presenter might have their voice muted or they might not be speaking at all. You should attempt to communicate with the host of the audio conference and inform them that you are not hearing any audio.
