Pairing Issues with Webex Share
Tips for Pairing
If you pair your device with Webex, your device is located and paired using ultrasonic sound waves. Therefore, as you pair your devices, please note the following:
-
It takes 3–5 seconds for the devices to pair successfully. The pair may not be successful if it does not happen within that period of time.
-
You should close your room door when using your device in case nearby devices interfere with it. The Webex Share must be the only one in the room, so be sure that there is only one.
-
In the event that you have multiple devices at work, it may be worth your time to manually pair them together.
-
It is essential that you enable the microphone on your computer and ensure that it is not being used by another application
Turn Automatic Pairing on From Your Windows Computer
It is possible that your settings in Webex are incorrect if you are unable to pair with your Windows computer.
- You can change your profile settings by clicking your profile icon in Webex.
- In the Devices section, click Automatic Pairing and make sure it is checked. Check it if it isn’t and then click the save button if it isn’t.
- There may be a problem with your computer if Automatic Pairing is selected and does not work. If you are experiencing this problem, you should try pairing manually.
Turn Automatic Pairing on From Your Mac Computer
It is possible that you have configured Webex in such a way that you are not able to pair with your Mac computer.
- Choose Preferences from the menu bar of the Webex App on the left hand side of the screen.
- Look at the Automatic Pairing checkbox to see if it is enabled. Please check the setting if it isn’t there and close the pop-up window if it isn’t.
- It is possible that your computer may not support Automatic Pairing if it is checked and it is not working. The best thing you can do in this case is to pair manually.
