People focus on Board, Desk, and Room Series – Webex
Maximize your screen real estate and put the focus on people.
When you activate people focus, your layouts will adjust dynamically to crop away any background that isn’t being used by a participant and maximize the amount of space available to that participant on the screen. When enabled, dynamic cropping occurs anytime it is determined that doing so will make your meeting experience more enjoyable.
When you join a call on a supported device with people focus turned on, the incoming video from other supported devices will be cropped on your screen so that you can see only the people in the video. If another device in the call does not support people focus, the incoming video from that device will not be cropped on your screen since your device does not support people focus.
People focus is a feature of Webex Meetings that may be used on cloud-registered Board, Desk, and Room Series devices (with the exception of Desk Hub).
Enable people focus
The center of attention shifts between transmitting and receiving devices. When you enable it on your device, it means that you are choosing to see cropped video on your side of the call; it does not indicate that other devices are automatically receiving cropped video from you. Instead, it implies that you are choosing to see cropped video on your side of the conversation.
The setting to prioritize people has been disabled by default. You can enable people focus on your smartphone, during a call:
- To access the call controls, tap anywhere on the touch screen of your device.
- Make sure you select the Layout option. The Layout menu is now available.
- The section on people is located at the very bottom of the menu. Toggle it ON.
Your currently displayed layout will automatically change and realign itself to present participants with their heads cropped.
