Personal meeting ID (PMI) and personal link in zoom App
You can access your personal meeting room using your meeting ID or personal link. If you wish to schedule a meeting in your personal meeting room, you will be able to do so at any time that is convenient for you. You can start the meeting whenever you like or schedule it for when you need it in the future. If you wish, you can even start or schedule an instant meeting with your PMI.
PMI can also be disabled by account owners and administrators if they wish to require users to always generate a unique meeting ID. When setting the Enable Personal Meeting ID setting to disabled and locked, users will need to edit any previously scheduled meetings that used PMI to update the meeting ID. There will need to be a resend of the invitation to the meeting invitees once the meeting ID has been updated.

What is your Personal meeting ID (PMI)?
A permanent personal meeting room is assigned to you automatically when you create your PMI. The room can be used right away or scheduled in the future. When you visit your Profile page, a new PMI will be generated if you haven’t accessed your meeting room at least once every 365 days. Your current PMI will remain the same as long as you use it at least once every 365 days.
You can find your PMI in your personal meeting URL, such as https://zoom.us/j/5551112222. The PMI can be customized by Licensed users.
How to customize your PMI
- Access Zoom’s web portal by logging in.
- Click on Profile.
- Click Edit next to Personal Meeting ID.
- Type in a 10-digit ID.
- You can enable instant meetings if you check the checkbox.
- Save your changes.
Restrictions for customizing your PMI
Customizing your PMI has some restrictions. You must meet the following criteria:
- Start with 2–9 (cannot start with 0 or 1)

What is the personal link?
It’s the URL of your meeting room that’s associated with your personal link. There can be no more than 40 characters in your customized personal link. You can only enter letters, numbers and periods (. ) in the field, and it must start with a letter.
It is important that your personal link is unique to you. If you have a Vanity URL on your account, it cannot be used by another Zoom user, even if your account also has a Common Name. Common names cannot be used as your personal link.
Note:
It should be noted that the meeting invitation does not use your personal link, instead, it will use your personal meeting ID.
How to customize your personal link
- You can access Zoom’s web portal by logging in.
- Select Profile.
- Under Personal Link, choose Customize.
- Input the link or ID you wish to use.
- Save your changes.
Changing the settings of your Personal Meeting Room
- Log in to the Zoom web portal.
- From the Meetings section, click.
- Select Personal Room.
- Select Edit.
- Change the desired settings.

Disabling Personal Meeting ID
If you are the owner or administrator of the account, you can disable Personal Meeting ID for the entire account or for a specific group. The following steps can be followed if you wish to disable Personal Meeting ID entirely: follow the steps below to disable the setting, and then take the optional step to lock it.
If the Personal Meeting ID feature is disabled or locked, users will have to edit any previously scheduled meetings with PMI in order to update the meeting ID. They will need to resend the invitation to the meeting attendees after they’ve edited the meeting ID.
