Poll Attendees in Cisco Webex Training
You can introduce a questionnaire to your attendees during the course of a training session in order to allow them to choose multiple-choice answers to the questions presented to them during the training session. There is no need to wait until the end of the training session to create a poll.
Poll Attendees Overview
The use of polls is a great way to gather feedback from the attendees of your event. A poll is a good way to encourage attendees to learn more about a topic, test their knowledge, and to vote on a proposal.
Preparing a poll questionnaire is the first step in taking a poll. The questionnaires can be developed at any time during a training session, or they can be developed before the meeting time of the training session, saved and then opened when the meeting begins so that the questionnaire can be used during the meeting.
You can save the results that you get from a poll after it has been closed, or you can view and share the results with those attending your event.
Prepare a Poll Questionnaire
Presenters can use the Polling panel to prepare surveys that can be used as multiple-choice questionnaires, single-choice questionnaires, or text-based surveys. Throughout the training session, the presenter can open the poll whenever they wish once they have completed the questionnaire.
Compose Poll Questions and Answers (Windows)
- In the Participants panel, select the Polling button. You may find that the option does not appear under the drop-down menu under More options and controls.
- In order to add your question to your poll, you will need to choose the type of question you want and click New.
If a question asks multiple answers, the attendee can either select one answer, or they can choose all of the answers that apply, making the question a multiple choice question.
Attendees can respond in a free-form manner to questions by answering Short Answer questions.
- Press the Enter key after you have typed your question.
- After each answer, you should press Enter on your keyboard to complete the process.
Marking the correct answer is as simple as selecting it first, and then clicking the Mark this answer as Correct button.
- Click on the Open Poll button. When the time period specified in the poll elapses or the presenter closes it, the poll closes.
Compose Poll Questions and Answers (Mac)
- By clicking on Polling, you will be able to open the polling tab.
- In order to create a new poll, click on Add New Question and type in the question you wish to ask.
- By clicking the Add Answer button, you will be able to add an answer to your question. In order for a correct answer to be marked, it must first be selected, and then it must be clicked.
If a question asks multiple answers, the attendee can either select one answer, or they can choose all of the answers that apply, making the question a multiple choice question.
Attendees can respond in a free-form manner to questions by answering Short Answer questions.
- Click on the Open Poll button. When the time period specified in the poll elapses or the presenter closes it, the poll closes.
Edit a Questionnaire
There are various ways to edit polls, as you can see in this table, as the presenter:

Rename and Reorder Polling Tabs
It is possible to create separate polling tabs so that you can stay on top of them easily if you have several polls open at once. There is also the possibility of reordering the polls so that they are easier to refer to in the future.
It is easy to rename the polling tab by clicking on the tab name, entering the new name, and pressing Enter at the same time.
If you want to move a tab left or right, you can click on the tab and drag and drop it.
Display a Timer During Polling
A timer can be displayed by presenters to illustrate how long the poll will be open during the presentation. Attendees will be able to see how long it will take them to complete the poll in this way.
If you are using Windows, click on Options. To set options on your Mac, select the icon that says Set Options.
In the Alarm: box, type the length of time that you want the alarm to sound, then click OK.
Share Poll Results with Attendees
A presenter can share the results of a poll with training session attendees after he or she has closed the poll. The polling panel shows the results that have been shared.
In the poll results, we are not taking into consideration the number of attendees who filled out the questionnaire, but our results are based on the percentage of attendees who selected each answer out of the total number of attendees in the training session.
Attendees can benefit from the following information shared by the presenters:
-
Poll results: In the Polling panel, the attendee will be able to see the results of the poll.
-
Individual Results: Share a web browser-based document with the attendee containing the attendee’s results.
-
Correct answers: There will be a panel on the Polling page that shows the correct answers.
-
Individual’s grades: In the Polling panel, it is possible to see the grade of the attendee.
Select the Share with Attendees option on the Polling panel, select the information you would like to share, and click Apply.
