Previewing your video before joining in zoom App
Overview
You can preview your video before joining a meeting as an attendee. You can update your video settings such as your virtual background or video filters when previewing your video. Furthermore, you can test your video whenever you are not in a meeting.
Note:
If you are the host of a meeting, the Video Preview dialog will not appear to you before you begin the meeting; however, you can test your video settings before you begin.

Enabling video preview
- Log in to the Zoom desktop client.
- On the Settings page, click your profile picture.
- Select the Video tab.
- When joining a video meeting, check the box next to Always show video preview.
Note: - When you join a video meeting with the Turn off my video setting enabled, you will not see the Video Preview dialog box. If you want to see your video, you need to disable this setting.

Previewing your video before joining a meeting hosted by another user
- Join a meeting using the Zoom desktop client.
Note: - You will not be able to preview your video before joining the meeting if you select the button to Turn off my video in the Join Meeting dialog. To see your video, clear this check box.
- Enter the meeting passcode when prompted and click Join Meeting.
You will see the video preview. - In the Video Preview dialog box, you have the following options:
- When joining a video meeting, show a video preview: Clear this check box to disable the feature. From now on, you will not be shown the Video Preview dialog when joining a video meeting. Make sure this check box is selected to keep this setting.
- Open the settings by clicking the icon in the top-right corner. Then, you can apply filters and studio effects to your video as well as change your virtual background.
- Join with video: Click to join the meeting with video.
- Join without Video:
- Click to join the meeting without video.
- By clicking Start Video / Stop Video when you are in a meeting, you can turn on or off your camera. Find out more about attending meetings.

Enabling video preview
- Use Zoom’s mobile app to sign in.
- In the bottom-right corner, tap Settings.
- Tap Meetings.
- Tap the toggle next to Always Show Video Preview to enable the setting.
Note: - A video preview dialog will not appear if the Always Turn Off My Video setting is also enabled. If you want to preview your video, you must disable this setting.
Previewing your video before joining a meeting hosted by another user
- Join a Zoom meeting from the Zoom mobile app.
- If prompted, enter the meeting passcode and tap Continue.
- The Video Preview dialog box includes the following options:
- You can disable the video preview option under your settings if you want to always see a video preview when joining a video meeting. You won’t be shown the Video Preview dialog the next time you join a video meeting. Simply turn the toggle on to keep this setting active.
- (Virtual Background): Tap the top-left icon to access the video settings. From there, you can change your virtual background and apply video filters. Tap ✖ to close this screen and go back to the Video Preview dialog.
- Join with Video:
- You can join the meeting with video enabled by tapping this button.
- Join without Video:
- This button will let you join with video disabled.
