Raise a hand using DTMF commands in Webex Meetings, Webex Events (classic), and Webex Webinars
You have the ability to put your hand up for a question at any time during a Meeting, Event (classic), or Webinar by dialing in and using DTMF commands. The *3 Raise Hand option can be disabled for hosts in the original version of Events.
Before you get started:
- The most recent version of the Meetings program must be used by hosts.
- Attendees who joined the call via the desktop application, the website, or the mobile app will not have access to the *3 command.
- Audio prompts are accessible in any and all of the regional languages.
Simply pressing the ** key will allow you to hear a list of the DTMF commands that are accessible during your event or meeting.
1. When it is time to join, open the email invitation, and use the information provided to dial in using the Join by phone option.
2. After entering the access code that was provided in the email invitation, follow it up with the pound symbol. When prompted, enter the pound sign once again.
3. If you have a question once the meeting has begun, you can raise your hand by pressing the *3 key.
The following is said as a prompt to the listener: “You have raised your hand to ask a question. Please hold your comments until the host gives you permission to talk.
4. Pressing the *3 key will allow you to lower your hand if you no longer wish to pose a question or if the presenter has already called on you to participate in the discussion.
The following statement was audibly confirmed: “You have lowered your hand.”
