Remotely upgrading Zoom Room devices with ZDM
As long as your device is enrolled in Zoom Device Management (ZDM) service, you will be able to upgrade the Zoom app, operating system (OS) and firmware on many devices from the Zoom Admin Portal. The Zoom app can also be downgraded on supported devices if you wish to do so.
Note: To make sure you are using the latest Zoom Rooms and Zoom Phone Appliances, please refer to the supported processes listed below.
Prerequisites for upgrading devices with ZDM

Ownership or administrative privileges of an account

ZDM devices that have been enrolled

You need to be logged into Windows Zoom Room in order to use it

(Signed in to the Zoom Room app on macOS)

Apple Business Manager has been enrolled in the macOS Zoom Room

Controls for the Zoom Room on the iPad are as follows:

If you enroll in Apple Business Manager, you will be automatically put into “Supervised Mode” every time you access your computer.

The App Store’s Auto Update feature has been disabled

There is no passcode on the device
Notes:-
There is a requirement to enroll the device in a MDM solution with Apple DEP if it runs iOS 10.2 or earlier.

How to upgrade/downgrade the Zoom app with ZDM

Upgrade the Zoom App from Device Management
Notes:

It is possible for you to enable the Automatically Update App setting on your device in order to automate the updating of the Zoom app.

It allows you to update your Zoom Room devices with the latest version, a previous version, and a second previous version by selecting one of the options.

You will need to update your Zoom Room app to the 64-bit version if you are using a Zoom Room based on Windows if you want to take advantage of the new whiteboard feature.

Log into Zoom’s web portal by entering your username and password.

Click on Device Management from the navigation menu and then click Device List from the list of devices.

You will find a tab called Devices on the left side of the screen.

If you select Enrolled in ZDM under All Managed Devices, then you will need to perform the following steps:
Please select the device on which you would like to update the App if you wish to update it on only one device:

The first step is to identify the device you wish to use.

It is possible to upgrade the app version by clicking the up arrow on the right of the app version.

You can update Zoom Room by clicking on the drop down arrow located at the bottom left of the release notes box, then selecting the version you wish to update from the drop down list.

You will need to choose the required devices if you want the App updated on more than one device:

Click on the device you wish to select.

Click Upgrade in the upper right corner of the screen.

Click on the app you would like to use.

If you click the drop-down arrow in the box in the Upgrade App pop-up dialog box, you will be able to select which version of Zoom Room you would like to update.
Note: The release notes will be displayed on the device screen if the app is being updated on similar types of devices. -

It will be easier for you to upgrade your 32-bit Windows Zoom Room client to a 64-bit version if you follow these steps:

Click on the device that you would like to use.

To upgrade the app, click on the three dots to the right of the device name and then click Upgrade App on the next screen.

Click the Advanced button and then choose Upgrade 64-bit client from the list that appears.

Upgrades can be done by clicking on the Upgrade button.
Downgrade the Zoom app from Room Management

Downgrade the Zoom app from Device Management
Note: As of right now, Zoom Room Controllers and Android devices that use the Zoom app cannot be downgraded.

Log into Zoom’s web portal by entering your username and password.

Click on Device Management from the navigation menu and then click Device List from the list of devices.

You will find a tab called Devices on the left side of the screen.

Find the computer where the Zoom Room app is installed and downgrade it from there.

You can select downgrade an app by clicking the ellipse at the top of the screen.

The Downgrade pop-up dialog box opens up, in which you have the option to select either the version of Zoom Room you would like to downgrade, or a drop down box can be used as well.

Then click the Downgrade button.
How to upgrade the OS/firmware from with ZDM

You will need to sign in to the Zoom website.

Click on Device Management from the navigation menu and then click Device List from the list of devices.

Select the device you wish to update the OS/firmware on if you want to update the same OS/firmware across multiple devices:

Using the ellipse icon on the far right of the device, select Upgrade OS from the menu that appears.

Please select the required devices if you intend to upgrade the OS/firmware on more than one device:

In the top right corner of the screen, click Upgrade, and then select Platform OS from the list.

Click Upgrade to confirm the upgrade in the pop-up window that appears.
Note: By enabling the Automatically Update OS/Firmware setting, you will be able to automate the process of updating the OS and firmware.
How long does the update take?
If you wish to use the Zoom Room update, you must be signed in, registered and not in a meeting for it to take effect.
