- The process of transferring numbers is not currently available in Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, or Panama, however, new numbers can be ordered at the moment.
Prerequisites for requesting a number port
-
- Admin privileges or account owner rights
- for Zoom Phone licenses
- Latest telephone bill/invoice
How to request a number port
- You will need to take out a Letter of Authorisation (LOA) from the country of your choice and fill in the relevant information.
- If you need assistance, consult the porting guidelines.
- We are asking all customers who currently have POC (proof of concept) or trial numbers to complete this number swap sheet so that we can update our company records when the port is complete. Numbers that are swapped in will replace the numbers that have been swapped out on a like-for-like basis.
- Email numberporting@zoom.us with the following information: Ensure that the following information is included:
- Subject line must contain the following information:
- A signed and completed Letter of Agreement
- The latest telephone bill, dated within the last 3 months, should relate to the porting of your telephone numbers
- In addition to any other documents required by the country of destination
- Upon receiving a request from Zoom, a confirmation email will be sent confirming receipt.
- We will then send an email to your losing provider to ask them to validate the information on the LOA, since this information will have to be verified by the losing provider after the transfer request is submitted to Zoom. The losing provider and Zoom will schedule a porting date as soon as the porting request is accepted. It will be possible to manage the numbers once they have been approved through Zoom’s web portal if you wish.
Guidelines
- You must provide information that is the same as what your current provider already has on file.
- Authentication: The LOA must be hand-signed/wet-signed and dated no more than 3 months after the signing date. The majority of LATAM countries do not accept electronic signatures on Letters of Agreement.
- On a Letter of Agreement, the losing provider’s name must be listed.
- After an order has been submitted, the number portability check can only be conducted. Sometimes, as a result of a loss of service, losing providers may advise that numbers are not transferable.
- If you are experiencing some problems with your incoming calls during the porting activation window, this likely means that you will have to move away from the losing provider whilst your porting numbers are being moved away.
- An average of 30 days are usually required for a port to be completed from the day it is submitted.

Documentation requirements:
- Copy of the most recent local service provider invoice.
Chile
You can only port Movistar numbers.
Mexico
You need only to send the Spanish documentation:
- This document should be accompanied by either a Notarized Power of Attorney or a Notarized Designation document. Both examples are available in Spanish and English. According to the Mexican Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, this is required for the contract. It is 100% necessary to have the notarization. It is preferable to have the constitution document notarized.
- The notarized document or the notarized power of attorney signer must have a valid form of identification (country national identification document or passport). This must be an employee of the company.
- The letter of temporary transfer must be accompanied by the local address (if it is not in the United States). Examples can be seen in both English and Spanish.
Additional information:
- When you are not paying a Mexican telecommunication company for your services but rather a US reseller, you are faced with the following scenario:
- This means that the third party needs to complete the documents, along with the POA and their own IDs, or the third party can do it on their behalf.
- If the third party confirms the port within the first 24-hour window, the port will be considered approved.
- It is imperative that the signature on the ID match the signature on the documents.
Peru
Documentation Required:
- DNI (National Identity Document) of the signer of this Letter of Authorization.
- Procurement Document/Proof of Signer’s Identity. An incorporation agreement might be a form of this. It confirms the authority of the signer to act for the company. The signature must be wet on the document. We cannot accept electronic signatures.
- Please bring the most recent invoice from the current contract provider with you.
Upon giving a porting date, porting will be completed in a working time frame of six hours (maximum of three hours downtime). There is no recommendation that porting should take place on a Friday or a holiday.
