Requiring Virtual Background usage in zoom app
Owners of accounts and admins of groups can enable a setting within their accounts or groups to change the behavior of users when their video plays, so that a virtual background is required. Unless the user’s system supports Virtual Backgrounds, the user will not be able to see the video if their system doesn’t support it.
Prerequisites for using Virtual Background
-
In order to use Virtual Background, the user’s computer must meet the requirements of the program
-
The Zoom desktop application for Windows, Mac OS, and Linux, version 5.6.6 or higher, must be installed by the user.
Note: It is not possible to start your video if you are using a client that is below 5.6.6
Limitations for requiring Virtual Background usage
-
This means that if the minimum Zoom client version is not 5.6.6, users with Zoom clients older than this version will be unable to launch their video.
-
A virtual background can only be used by Zoom users who have Zoom client 5.10.6 or higher. A green screen cannot be used by Zoom users. A virtual background will only be available to those who have a green screen in front of them or those who do not meet any of the requirements for a virtual background.
