Resetting to factory default and upgrading firmware on a Polycom phone in zoom App
Install custom firmware on your Polycom phone by following this article.

Prerequisites for resetting to factory default and installing custom firmware on a Poly phone
- Zoom Phone supports Polycom devices
- With the Web interface enabled in the account-level settings for desk phones
How to access the phone’s web interface
Note:
- All Polycom desk phones are covered by these instructions.
- The web interface on provisioned devices is disabled by default with Zoom Phone. Make sure Web Interface is enabled in the account-level settings for desk phones if you are unable to access the phone’s web interface.
- Select Settings by pressing the Home button on your phone.
- Select Network, then Status.
- The IP address for the phone can be found next to IPv4 Addr under TCP/IP Parameters.
- Connect a computer to the same network as your phone and launch a web browser.
- Enter https:// followed by the IP address of the phone.
Note: - When prompted, click continue to proceed.
- Log in as an administrator.
Note: - 456 is the default admin password. The vendor of your phone can provide your username and password if you do not know them. The Zoom web portal allows you to view the administrator password if it has been set globally.
How to reset to factory default using the web interface (recommended)
- To back up and restore your phone, click Utilities from the top navigation menu.
- You can expand Global Settings by clicking on it.
- Select Restore.
- Confirm by clicking Yes.
How to reset to factory default using the phone’s interface (optional)
If you are unable to access the web interface of your phone, proceed to this section.
Note:
This section contains screenshots of VVX series phones with touchscreens; however, the instructions apply to all Polycom devices with a touchscreen.
- Select Settings by pressing the Home button on your phone.
- You will then be able to navigate to Advanced then Administration Settings.
Note: - The administrator password has to be entered in the next step. The default password for the administrator account is 456; if this does not work, contact the phone vendor.
- Select Reset to Defaults and then select Reset to Factory Settings.
- The factory reset will be completed when you select Yes. Your phone will automatically restart after the factory reset has been completed.
How to upgrade firmware using the phone’s web interface
Note:
- Check the UC Software Version on the Home page. The supported firmware version is displayed on the Home page.
- Make sure that Web Interface is enabled in the account-level settings for desk phones if you cannot access the phone’s web interface.
- Click Utilities then Software Upgrade from the top navigation menu.
- Click Check for Updates next to Polycom Hosted Server.
You will see a message stating that the available versions have been successfully fetched. - The supported firmware version can be selected from the drop-down menu of Available software versions. Please avoid versions that include a letter.
- Select Install. When the firmware is installed, the phone will restart. It will take about three minutes.
