Having a shared calendar makes it possible to add meetings to which everyone can participate. It will be necessary to invite guests directly, as guests will not be able to view the calendar. Visit Schedule a meeting in Teams to learn how to add events to your channel calendar
Note: Private channels do not currently have channel calendars.
Things to know about channel calendars
Select Add to calendar when you open a channel event.
Direct invites won’t be sent unless each member’s name is added individually.
The post will include a summary of the event details every time you schedule an event.
Those members whose notifications have been turned on for that channel will be notified of newly created events.
Only the Teams app allows you to schedule and view channel events.
It is only possible to invite teams created prior to May 2018.. to your invitation. After this date, you are only able to invite channels, Outlook groups, or individuals to your invitation if your team has been created after May 2018.
A channel calendar is a filtered view of the group calendar associated with the team that is a part of the Microsoft 365 group calendar. In this case, it will only display the events related to a particular channel and not the entire team as a whole. How Microsoft 365 groups work with Teams in your Microsoft 365 account, you can read all about that online at How Microsoft 365 groups work with Teams.
In order to receive the invite in your personal calendar, you need to follow the corresponding Microsoft 365 group in Outlook. Find out how to follow a group in Outlook by going to Follow a group.
Note: Groups that aren’t visible in Outlook cannot have their subscription settings changed. Individually adding members’ names will enable them to receive the invite by default.
