Setting Zoom as default for Google calendar
The Google calendar service announced on October 15, 2020 that Google Meet will be the default video conferencing service when more than one is enabled. If you do not take action and have Zoom and Google Meet enabled, this change will take effect on November 16, 2020.
In order to allow users to choose a meeting platform each time, administrators can assign Zoom as their default meeting service or remove Meet as their default provider.

Turning off Google Meet as your default provider
If you have to pick a meeting provider every time, turn off Google as your default provider.
- In the Google Admin console, select Apps and then GSuite.
- Select Calendar.
- Click Video Conferencing under Sharing.
- Uncheck the box that says Make Google Video Conferencing your default.
- Save the changes.
Setting Zoom as your default for meetings
If you use Zoom for all meetings, make it your default meeting software.
- Within the Google Admin console, navigate to Apps, then G Suite.
- Select Google Meet from the drop-down menu.
- Make sure everyone is turned off.
- Zoom for G Suite is available in the Google Marketplace under the name Zoom for GSuite.
- From the Google Admin console dashboard, select Apps, then GSuite.
- Then click Calendar.
- Under Sharing, click Video conferencing.
- Check Automatically add video calls to user-created events.
- Save your changes.
