Shared Client Groups Usage for Zoom app and Zoom client
The Zoom phone admin has permission for a shared line group that would share with the common area phones or group of phone users, the extension along with the phone number.
Throughout the article, the following two terms are used-
- Shared lines. These are the direct phone numbers usually allocated for sharing with the members and to the shared line group.
- Members. It’s usually the zoom admin who adds the members to the shared line group. Note, only a single member can become a part of a single shared line.
This article is intended to guide the members of the shared line group in using it for the zoom mobile app and desktop client.
Preconditions.
- The user must possess the calling plans and zoom phone license.
- One should be a member of the shared line group.

- Though you still can be a part of several shared line groups. You also can develop the delegation relationships parallelly acting as a member of one or several shared line groups.
- The members must have a zoom mobile app version of
- IOS version 4.6.4 (17387.0119) or above.
- Android version 4.6.4 (17397.0119) or above.
- The members must have a zoom desktop client version of
- Mac OS version of 4.6.4(17383.0119) or above.
- Windows version of 4.6.4 (17383.0119) or above.
A way for finding the shared line group name.
Follow the steps in seeing the name for the shared line group-
Step 1. From the zoom mobile or desktop client, sign in.
Step 2. Select the phone option.
Step 3. Further, go with the lines feature.
Below the shared group option, you can view your shared line group.
The procedure of making a call or choosing the shared line.
Before you choose to call someone, you can choose a shared line to use for the call. Here’s how-
Step 1. To the zoom mobile client or desktop, you just sign in.
Step 2. Select the phone option.
Step 3. Select a Caller ID from the menu available beneath the dial pad. It’s tagged as shared for the shared lines and following that you will find above the number the shared line’s group name.
Remember, Your zoom outbound caller ID number will be based on the caller ID you have opted for.
Step 4. From the shared line group you can make a call.
Steps to check the shared line status.
With this feature, every member in a shared line group can check whether any member is on a call using the shared line.

Under the shared group, your shared line group will be shown. Other members can also find the other party’s caller id number and zoom members’ profile names on the call.
However, the members won’t be able to find the direct number in case the shared line group has various direct phone numbers.
Way to receive a zoom call.
Remember, situated in the zoom mobile app or desktop client, ensure that you have turned on the shared line group call notifications in your zoom phone settings.
When anyone makes a call in the shared line then the call notification can show the name of the shared line group beneath.
A way for a zoom call transfer.
As soon as you respond to a zoom call from the shared line group then one can transfer it to another phone user, member, or external number.
Way of viewing the call recordings.
Using a shared line when a member records the call then solely the member who recorded will be able to manage or play the zoom recording. And the rest of the members can view the entries of call history based on the zoom recording. You have to inform the zoom phone admin for sharing the call recordings to permit any members on viewing your recordings.
You can simply recognize the recordings when the call recordings are tagged with your shared line group name.
Remember, this tag is not shown while viewing the web portal’s call history.
Way of viewing the call history.
From the shared lines, the members can see the call history. But when the member removes an entry associated with the shared line then the entry can only be removed for members who made the deletion.

Way of viewing the voicemail inbox.
Automatically, every member can manage as well as play the voicemail texts which are there for shared lines. Remember the following while coordinating voicemails for the shared line group-
- For the criteria of conveniently recognizing the voicemails, those are renamed with the shared line group name.
- When a member listens to an unplayed voicemail message, then it will indicate as played for other members.
- In case the member removes a voicemail message, that message will be removed for every other member.
Remember, anytime the zoom phone admin can withdraw the access from the shared line group voicemail inbox at the same time can allow you to be a member of the shared line group. When you are unable to view the voicemails of the shared line group then get in touch with the zoom phone admin.
