Shared Lines on Your Analog Phone in webex
If you have a shared line with another user on your analog phone, you are sharing a phone number with them. An administrative assistant may, for example, have the same telephone number as the individual they support. The same number may be shared by a number of phones or you may have a number shared by many phones.
Among your coworkers, you might be able to share one or more of the same phone numbers. Besides screening calls for the person you support, you may also be responsible for assisting the person with other administrative tasks.
Also, you can have a number that is shared by a number of phones.
Shared phone numbers can be configured so that they appear on up to 35 devices, including desktops or mobile app devices used by the user.
You can use a shared phone number just like any other phone line, even though you share a phone number. There are a few characteristics of shared lines that should be kept in mind:
-
All phones that share the same phone number appear with the same number on them.
-
An active call can be interrupted by a shared line:
-
Barge is triggered when the shared line goes off-hook if autobarge is enabled.
-
If autobarge is disabled, the shared line dials **6 to trigger cBarge.
-
-
The feature of privacy allows you to prevent other people from adding themselves to your call if you share a phone line with them.
-
During an active call, press **8 to enable the privacy feature.
-
During an active call, press **9 to disable the privacy feature.
