Sharing a screen using Apple screen mirroring in zoom App

Apple screen mirroring (also known as AirPlay on iOS 11 or earlier) lets you share content from a MacOS or iOS device to Zoom Rooms with a single click. The Zoom client on MacOS/iOS communicates with the Zoom Room using the AirPlay bonjour protocol. To share content from your laptop or mobile device to a Zoom Room, you can also use direct sharing, share.zoom.us, or wired HDMI video capture

Prerequisites for sharing a screen using Airplay

• You have enabled the Apple screen mirroring protocol on your network
• when using Zoom Rooms 5.0.5 or higher
• when you have edit access to Zoom Roas a conference roomRoom
• • Windows: version 5.0.5 or higher
  • macOS: version 5.0.5 or higher
• Zoom Rooms Controller
  • Android: version 5.0.5 or higher
  • iOS: version 5.0.5 or higher
  • Windows: version 5.0.5 or higher

How to enable Apple screen mirroring (AirPlay)

1. Zoom’s web portal is available once you’re logged in.
2. Click Zoom Rooms then click Room Management.
3. The location hierarchy can be used to enable this setting for a specific room or location. To make it available for your entire account, click Account Settings.
4. Click Meetings.
5. Turn on Apple Screen Mirroring by clicking the toggle next to it.
6. Click Enable to confirm the change.
7. Check the box next to Start Apple Screen Mirroring service manually if you want this setting enabled.

How to use Apple screen mirroring (AirPlay)

macOS

• Click the screen mirroring icon at the top-right corner of the Apple menu
• Click on the Zoom Room name to initiate the screen share.

• A prompt will appear to enter the sharing password.

• Enter the passcode as it appears on your Zoom Room’s screen.

• Click Disconnect Airplay to exit sharing.

iOS

1. Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to bring up the control center.
2. Tap Screen Mirroring.
3. Select the Zoom Room name.
4. Enter the passcode shown on your Zoom Room screen. This will share your iOS display to the Zoom Room TV screen.

How to display Apple screen mirroring (AirPlay) instructions

To help room participants use Apple screen mirroring, you can display instructions on the room’s display.

During a presentation (when a meeting is not in session)

1. Tap Presentation on the Zoom Rooms controller.
2. Tap Share iPhone/iPad/Mac.

During a meeting

1. Start or join a meeting.
2. Tap Share Content on the Zoom Rooms controller.
3. Tap Share iPhone/iPad/Mac.
