Sharing computer sound in a screen share in zoom App
Overview
Zoom screen sharing lets you share a desktop, window, application, or audio/video. To provide a more professional sharing experience, you can also share your computer’s audio (in mono or stereo) with remote attendees when sharing.
Prerequisites
- For mono audio:
- For Windows, macOS and Linux, version 5.0.0 or later of the Zoom desktop client
- For stereo audio:
- Version 5.5.0 or higher of Zoom’s desktop client for Windows, macOS, and Linux
How to share audio with shared content
- Join or start a Zoom meeting.
- On the meeting toolbar, click Share Screen.
- Choose what you want to share.
- Select Share Sound in the bottom-left corner of the share selection window.
- (Optional) Select the down arrow ˅ just to the right of the Share Sound option to view audio options and switch between Mono and Stereo (high fidelity) audio options.
- Click on Share in the bottom-right corner to begin sharing with your device’s audio included.
Notes:
- If you locate the share toolbar, click More, then select Share Sound after you have begun sharing, you can enable sharing device audio as well.
- You can switch between mono and stereo sound while sharing by clicking the More button on the share toolbar, then selecting Mono or Stereo (high-fidelity) under Select sharing sound mode.
Screen sharing with computer sound while connected to meeting audio via phone
- Users who join the meeting both by phone and computer will receive audio over the phone and video/screen sharing over the computer. To bind the two devices together, they must enter their Meeting ID and Participant ID.
- By checking Share Computer Sound on their computer, this user will be able to listen to audio via both their phone device as well as their computer.
- Alternatively, you can mute the speaker on your PC or Mac or click Stop Share at the top of your meeting screen to stop sending audio.
