Show or hide automated closed captions during a Webex meeting or webinar
Make your webinars and meetings more accessible by enabling automatic closed captions. The meeting or webinar controls appear above what people say as they speak.
Automated closed captions can be enabled on sites running Webex Assistant 41.7 and later. In Webex Webinars and Webex Meetings (but not in the webcast mode), automated closed captions are available. The host must activate Webex Assistant to enable automated closed captions on a site without support for automated closed captions. It is not possible to use Webex Assistant with Webex for Government.
The speaker’s name will now appear at the front of closed captions starting on 42.3 and later sites.
When you attend a meeting or webinar, Webex automatically turns on automated captions based on the previous meeting or webinar you attended.
Using Webex App on Linux, you can automatically caption videos.

Embedded transcripts in video recordings will show English transcriptions for portions of the meeting that were recorded. The Review tab under Calendar will show the transcription in the selected spoken language if Webex Assistant was available (on or off) during the recorded meeting. The caption (translation) language will not be displayed in either transcript at the moment.
On a delayed release cycle, closed captions will not be available without Webex Assistant for Meetings. Webex Assistant must be enabled on your site, meeting, or webinar if closed captions are not available.
