SIP/H.323 device call-out from Zoom Rooms
SIP/H.323 devices can be called directly from Zoom Rooms. In the Zoom web portal, you can add SIP/H.323 devices, which will add them to the Zoom Room controller’s contacts list. Zoom Rooms support simultaneous calls to one SIP/H.323 device. A license must be available for each device in a meeting with multiple SIP/H.323 devices.
Please note that these instructions apply to rooms with iOS and Android room controllers.
Prerequisites for SIP/H.323 device call-out from Zoom Rooms
One device call-out, no Room Connector add-on:
- Zoom Rooms for Windows 5.1.0 or later
- Zoom Rooms for Mac 5.1.0 or later
- Zoom Rooms Controller for iOS 5.1.0 or later
- Zoom Rooms Controller for Android 5.1.0 or later
Call-outs to multiple devices:
- Zoom Rooms for Windows 5.1.0 or later
- Zoom Rooms for Mac 5.1.0 or later
- Zoom Rooms Controller for iOS 5.1.0 or later
- Zoom Rooms Controller for Android 5.1.0 or later
- Zoom Rooms Controller for Windows 5.1.0 or later
- Subscribed to the H.323/SIP Room Connector add-on
How to call SIP/H.323 devices from Zoom Rooms
Contacts in the contacts list, IP addresses, or E.164 numbers can be used to call a SIP/H.323 device.
Using the contacts list
To appear in the Zoom Room controller’s contacts list, the SIP/H.323 device must be added in the Zoom web portal. This requires the Room Connector add-on.
- Zoom Rooms Controller: Tap Contacts
- Tap the entry for the SIP/H.323 device you wish to call in the search box.
- Tap Meet to start a SIP/H.323 meeting.
- Click Manage Participants, tap on the name of the SIP/H.323 device, then tap Show Keypad to enter digits (e.g. meeting ID).
- Press the keypad to enter numbers.
Using the device’s IP address or E.164 number
- On the left-side panel, tap Home.
- Select New Meeting from the list.
- Then tap Call SIP/H.323.
- Tap H.323 or SIP, then tap Call, then enter either an IP address or an E.164 number.
- During the call-out, tap Keypad to enter digits (e.g. meeting ID).
- Using the keypad, enter numbers.
How to call a SIP/H.323 device while in a Zoom Rooms meeting
The contacts list, the device’s IP address, or the E.164 number can be used to call an SIP/H.323 device.
Using the contacts list
To appear in the Zoom Room controller contacts list, the SIP/H.323 device must be added in the Zoom web portal.
- While in a meeting, tap Manage Participants, then tap Invite.
- Select Contacts from the drop-down menu.
- Search for the SIP/H.323 device you wish to call, then tap on its entry.
- Click Invite.
- In order to enter digits (e.g. meeting ID) during the call-out, click Manage Participants, tap on the name of the SIP/H.323 device, then tap Show Keypad.
- Tap numbers to enter them.
Using the device’s IP address or E.164 number
- While in a meeting, tap Manage Participants, then tap Invite.
- The SIP/H.323 tab will appear.
- The IP address must be entered, H.323 or SIP must be selected, then tap Call.
- During the call-out, you can use the Keypad to enter numbers (e.g. the meeting ID).
- The keypad is where you enter the numbers.
