Q: I want to try the new experience. How do I sign up for the Skype for Windows 11 preview Insiders program?
A: Skype for Windows 11 Insiders is available to anyone who has Windows 11 on their computer. Skype Insider page is where you can register for a free trial of Skype for Windows 11 preview builds and try them out.
Q: How do I know if I have the latest version?
A: Make sure you have the correct version number. When using Skype, select what is your profile picture, click Settings, then click Help & Feedback from the dropdown menu. In order to be compatible with Windows 11, Skype requires version 15.x of the application.
Q: How do I leave my feedback about the new Insiders build?
A: Please let us know your comments and feedback so that we can make sure Skype for Windows 11 improves for you before it is opened up to a broader audience. The feedback you leave will be collected by the Feedback Hub application that can be accessed through the Report a problem option in our menu under … More.
Q: I’ve signed up for the Skype for Windows 11 Insiders preview program. How do I get the updated builds now?
A: You will be able to update your build through the Store, just as you would with any other Store update. Once you sign up, you will receive an email with your update within 24 hours of signing up.
Q: When I update to the latest Skype for Windows 11 Insiders build, will my history, contacts or credits be impacted?
A: Whenever you update your Skype for Windows 10 or 11 to the latest Insiders release, your contacts, history, and credits will not be impacted by the update if you use Skype for Windows 10 or 11. As with any other update in the Store, this update behaves the same way as any other update. There will be no change to any of the information on your account.
You will be able to see your history from the last year if you previously used another version of Skype before updating to the latest Insiders release. Cloud backups are not available for history older than a year.

A: Opt out of the Windows Insider program to leave the Skype for Windows 11 preview program.
