Slido is now enabled for your organization in webex
There are lots of apps that can help you enhance engagement in meetings, whether they are virtual or live, using Slido, an easy-to-use Q&A and polling application. In live polls, the audience is empowered to ask questions and voice their opinions so that meaningful conversations can be driven. Slido will be available to meeting hosts in Webex Meetings on December 2, 2021 by clicking on the Apps button at the top of the screen.
You can reach out to your Customer Success Manager if you’d like to know more about how you can make use of Slido to improve meeting productivity across your organization by working with Slido.
Webex for Government does not support Slido as a feature.
How Slido works for your users
For the first time, Slido is automatically created for the Webex meeting host as well as any participants that are attending the meeting. A Slido account will be created for you in the organization linked to Webex.
From the Webex App, the host is in charge of managing Slido interactions.
Slido hosts are required to register for a free Slido account at https://admin.sli.do/ by entering their web address, or to sign in to Slido by using the ‘Login with Webex’ option to prepare events and interactions in advance.
Users may find it useful to take a look at: https://community.sli.do/setting-up-and-running-slido-41 for more details about creating and managing Slido events.
Setting up your Slido organization
Slido organization is created automatically when you create your Slido account. Preparation is not necessary; however, you might want to follow these tips in order to make your trip as smooth as possible:
-
Additional administrators for Slido accounts can be added
-
The process of claiming your domains
-
A policy for the retention of data needs to be set up
-
Any existing licenses or accounts of Slido will be merged together
-
The ability to allow guests from outside your organization access to your Slidos
When using Slido on a Windows computer, you will need Microsoft Edge WebView2 in order to use it. The Slido team recommends that you push this component to your Windows users before enabling Slido on those machines. The user will be prompted on the first use of Slido to install it otherwise. There can be a delay in downloading and installing the software, which will influence how well you are able to conduct meetings.
Embedding Slido with Webex App will show you how to achieve all of this and more, ignoring the Control Hub setup, in Integrate Slido with Webex App. There is no carryover of your Webex organization settings, so it is important to keep this in mind.
