Special rate numbers are defined as those prefixes that are charged according to a per-minute rate, regardless of whether or not the user has an assigned calling plan. In many cases, these numbers are split cost/shared cost numbers, which are generally more expensive than the standard number in their country.

Furthermore, certain phone number prefixes have set rates in certain countries, and/or these rates and charges, in addition to the way they are determined (charges per call, charges per minute, etc.) are established by the industry and are outside Zoom’s control. In this case, Zoom charges the customer the Industry Set Rate, and in the Phone System Management, calls that originate from these prefixes will be listed as Industry Set Rates.

How to view your per minute special rate

  1. Log in to the Zoom web portal by entering your username and password.
  2. Click on Account Management from the left-hand navigation bar, then Billing from the right.
  3. You can see or edit your Zoom Phone plan’s countries and regions by clicking on the view/edit button.
Blue arrows appear in the far-right column for countries or regions with special rates.
  4. See your special rate by clicking the blue arrow (Special column).

How to view calls being charged at a special rate or industry-set rate

The best way to find out if special rates are being applied to your calls is to check the following:

  1. Zoom’s web portal can be accessed by logging in.
  2. Select Phone System Management from the navigation menu and then Logs from the drop-down list.
  3. Select the Show charged calls only option from the drop-down list.
If you hover over the question mark under the charge column, you will see the per minute rate. The per minute rate that appears on the Billing tab can be used as a cross reference to this per minute rate.
