Speed-Dial Calls on Your DECT Handset-Webex
You can program a speed dial code into your DECT handset if there is a specific person that you call quite regularly. This will allow you to get in touch with them more quickly.
Speed Dial Calls
You can program your handset to allow for faster dialing of specific phone numbers if you make those numbers a regular part of your calling routine. You have the ability to program up to eight speed-dial numbers.
Assign a Speed-Dial Number
You are able to associate a contact with a speed-dial number. You give speed dials to entries 2 through 9 in the phone book. Your speed dial to voicemail can be found in the first available entry.
Before you begin
You are required to have at least one contact in your list of Contacts.
1. People to Contact in the Press.
2. Bring attention to the touch.
3. Click the More button.
4. Choose the Speed Dial option.
5. If you don’t have any empty entries in your speed-dial index, highlight the number you don’t need, press the Delete button, and then press Yes to confirm that the number has been deleted.
6. Activate the Add button while an empty speed-dial index is highlighted.
7. Tap the Power/End button.
Speed-Dial Numbers
You also have the option of adding extra digits that have been called to the number. A voicemail password, a meeting access code, an extension, an authorization code, and a billing code are some examples of additional digits.
The following possible characters may be included in the dial string:
- 0 to 9
- Pound (#)
- Asterisk (*)
- The comma (,) is the pause character, and using it causes a delay of two seconds in the dialing process. It is acceptable to use multiple commas in a row. For instance, a pause of four seconds is indicated by the use of two commas (,,).
The following are the guidelines for dial strings:
- Make sure to separate the various components of the dial string with commas.
- In the speed-dial string, an authorisation code is required to come before a billing code at all times.
- In the string, there should be one comma placed between the permission code and the billing code.
- For speed dials that include permission codes and additional digits, you will need to create a label for the speed dial.
It is recommended that you physically dial all of the digits at least once before attempting to configure the speed dial feature. This will ensure that the right numeric sequence is used.
In the call history, your phone will not record the authorization code, billing code, or any additional digits that were dialed using the speed dial feature. After successfully connecting to a destination that was previously stored as a speed dial, the handset will prompt you to manually enter any necessary authorization code, billing code, or additional digits if you press the Redial button.
Example
Consider the following requirements in order to set up a speed-dial number to call a person at a specific extension, as well as to determine whether or not you need an authorization code and a billing code:
- To reach someone on the outside of the building, dial 9.
- You should contact the number 555-6543.
- In order to proceed, please provide the permission code 1234.
- It is necessary for you to enter the billing code 9876.
- You are need to wait for a total of 4 seconds.
- After the call has been connected to your line, you will need to dial the extension number 56789#.
The number that should be entered into the speed-dial slot in this instance is 95556543,1234,9876,,56789#.
Make a Speed Dial Call
After you have completed the initial setup for the speed dial, you will be able to use it to place a call. The numbers from 2 to 9 make up the speed-dial indexes.
Example
If you already have your home number stored in your local contacts, you can make it the ninth priority when you call it using your speed dial. Then, the handset will automatically dial your house number whenever you hit and hold the 9 key.
