Streaming meetings/webinars on FB Workplace in zoom App
Live streaming of Zoom webinars or meetings can be done on Workplace by admins of Facebook pages or groups. The Workplace by Facebook live stream can be viewed and commented on by participants via Zoom or viewers.
Prerequisites for live streaming meetings or webinars on Workplace by Facebook
Streaming for Meetings
- Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise account
- The host is Licensed
- Zoom desktop client:
- Windows: version 4.1.11049.1024 or higher
- macOS: version 4.1.11049.1024 or higher
- Live stream is enabled on Workplace by Facebook
Streaming for Webinars
- Pro, Business, Education, or Enterprise account
- The host is assigned a Webinar license
- Zoom desktop client:
- Windows: version 4.1.8826.0925 or higher
- macOS: version 4.1.8826.0925 or higher
- Live stream is enabled on Workplace by Facebook
How to enable live streaming meetings on Workplace by Facebook
Account
You can live stream meetings on Workplace by Facebook for all members of your organization by following these steps:
- Zoom web portal users with account editing privileges should sign in as administrators.
- Then select Account Settings from the Account Management page.
- If you are using Facebook Workplace, enable the Workplace by Facebook option under the Meeting tab and click Save to save your changes.
- It is optional for you to make this setting mandatory for any and all users in your account, in which case just click the lock icon, and then confirm the setting by clicking Lock.
Group
Note:
The Group Management page has been renamed to Groups on Zoom accounts that were created after August 21, 2021; or those that have the New Admin Experience enabled.
Workplace by Facebook can be used to provide live streaming meetings to all members of a specific group.
- As an administrator with group editing permissions, you will need to log into the Zoom web portal.
- First, select User Management on the left, and then click Group Management to move on to the next step.
- Once you have selected the group you wish to edit, click its name.
- On the Meetings tab, you can find the Allow livestreaming of meetings setting under the In Meeting (Advanced) section. Make sure the option is enabled, check the Box next to Workplace by Facebook, and click Save to apply the changes.
Note: - There is a possibility that the option has been grayed out at the Account level, and that it must be changed there in order to be functional.
- The button for locking the group is located beside the lock icon. If you wish to make this setting mandatory, select Lock and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
User
You can stream meetings you host using Workplace by Facebook by following these steps:
- Zoom’s web portal requires logging in.
- Click on Settings.
- You will find the Allow livestreaming of meetings setting under the In Meeting (Advanced) section, you will want to verify that it is enabled, and you will also want to check the Workplace by Facebook option before clicking Save.
Note: - You will have to contact your Zoom administrator in order to make changes if the option is grayed-out, as it has been locked at either the account or group level.
How to enable live streaming webinars on Workplace by Facebook
Account
Workplace by Facebook allows all members of your organization to watch webinars live:
- Log in as an administrator with permission to edit account settings in the Zoom web portal.
- Select Account Settings from Account Management.
- Locate the Allow livestreaming of webinars setting under the Meeting tab (Advanced) section, make sure it is enabled, and then check the Workplace by Facebook option before clicking Save.
- (Optional) Click the lock icon, then click Lock to confirm your choice if you want the setting to be mandatory for all users in your account.
Group
Note:
Zoom’s Group Management page has renamed to Groups if you signed up for a new account after August 21, 2021; or your account is enabled for the New Admin Experience.
You can live stream webinars on Workplace by Facebook with all members of a specific group by following these steps:
- Log in as an administrator to the Zoom web portal.
- Navigate to Users, then to Groups.
- Select the group that you want to modify.
- Locate the Allow livestreaming of webinars setting under the Meeting tab (Advanced) section and verify it is enabled. Make sure the Workplace by Facebook option is checked, and click Save to save your changes.
Note: - It must be changed at the account level if the option is grayed out.
- Click the lock icon and then click Lock to confirm this setting. (Optional) If you want this setting to be mandatory for all members of the group, click the lock icon.
User
Using Workplace by Facebook, you can live stream webinars you host:
- Go to the Zoom web portal and sign in.
- Select the Settings tab.
- Find the Allow livestreaming of webinars setting under the Meeting tab (Advanced), make sure it is enabled, then check the Facebook Workplace option, and click Save to commit the changes.
Note: - You will need to contact your Zoom administrator for help if the option is grayed out as it has been locked either at the group or account level.
How to start a live stream to Workplace by Facebook
Workplace by Facebook live streaming instructions:
- Meet or participate in a webinar.
- Select More in the meeting/webinar control panel.
- Go to Workplace by Facebook and click Live.
- You will be prompted in your browser to choose where you wish to post the live video.
- Depending on whether you want to share it on your Timeline, in a Group or at an Event, you will need to click on the Next button.
- Click Next after selecting Use Stream Key in the Get Started section.
- Click Finish.
- Adjust other optional video options, such as adding a title and description, as well.
- Click on Go Live instead of selecting How to Broadcast.
- Your Live Meeting in the location you selected will appear on the Workplace by Facebook page.
- Once you finish the webinar or meeting, or select Stop Streaming from the controls toolbar, streaming stops.
