Testing your video in zoom App
Overview
To ensure your video camera is working correctly, you can test it with Zoom before joining the meeting.
You can test your video manually by following the steps below. To start a test meeting you can also follow the steps below.
Prerequisites
- Zoom desktop client
- Zoom mobile app
Windows | macOS
Before a meeting, test your video
- Log in to the Zoom client.
- Navigate to Settings by clicking your profile picture.
- Select Video from the drop-down menu.
- A preview video will be displayed from the currently selected camera. If another camera is available, you can choose it.
Testing your video while in a meeting
- To start or stop the video, click the arrow next to it.
- Click Video Settings.
- Zoom displays the camera settings and video.
- You may need to select another camera from the drop-down menu if you do not see your camera’s video.
The camera can be rotated if necessary.
Linux
Before a meeting, test your video
- Access the Zoom client by signing in.
- Select Settings under your profile picture.
- Select Video.
- A preview video will be shown from the currently selected camera; if another one is available, you can choose another one.
In a meeting, you can test your video
- Start/Stop the video by clicking the arrow.
- Click Settings for the video.
- The video settings will open, and you can select a camera.
Android
To test your video, you can start an instant meeting using the Zoom mobile app.
- Zoom can be accessed by signing in.
- Tap the Start Meeting button.
- Turn on video.
- Tap the Start Meeting button.
- You will be asked to allow Zoom access to your camera and microphone the first time you join a Zoom meeting from this device.
iOS
To test your video, you can start an instant meeting using the Zoom mobile app.
- Log in to the Zoom app.
- Tap the Start Meeting button.
- Turn on video.
- Click Start Meeting.
- Zoom may ask you to allow access to the camera and microphone for the first time you join a Zoom meeting from this device.
