Free licenses (Basic)
Meeting ends after 30 hours (active or idle)
- No participants, 1 host
- One participant, 1 host
- No host, 2 participants (join before host)
Meeting ends after 40 minutes (active or idle)
- 1 host, 2 participants or more at the same time
- 0 host, 3 participants or more at the same time (join before host)
Note:
In the event that a participant leaves the meeting and rejoins before their first connection is terminated fully, the meeting may count them as two different participants and trigger the time limit.
Paid licenses (Licensed and On-Prem)
Meeting ends after 30 hours (active or idle)
- 1 host, no participant
- 1 host, any number of participants
- 0 host, any number of participants (join before host)
Meeting ends after 40 minutes (active or idle)
- There is one host and one or more participants. After the meeting is over, there is only one participant left. Should no other participants show up, the meeting will end 40 minutes after it starts.
Note:
Meeting durations for paid users only apply to users who are assigned a paid license or using a webinar license (for webinars, panelists are treated the same as participants, however, attendees do not affect meeting durations). Users with basic licenses (free) on Pro, Business, and Education accounts are limited to the duration of the free license meetings. Although, even if there are numerous participants in a meeting that is scheduled by a Basic user and started from a paid Zoom Room on the same account, the meeting will not end after 40 minutes, regardless of how many people are participating. Zoom Rooms are free trials which means that the meeting will still time out if it is a free trial.
