My Cisco Headset 730 shows up twice in my Bluetooth ® device list
In Bluetooth ® device lists, the Cisco Headset 730 appears as Cisco HS 730, followed by the three digits of the headset serial number, which represents the last three digits of your headset’s model number.
When your Bluetooth headset is paired with a Windows 10 device, you will now be given the option of connecting via Stereo or Hands-Free (HFP) Bluetooth connection after the headset is paired with your device. The Bluetooth profile you choose should be the one that is most appropriate for the type of device you have. Bluetooth stereo connections feature richer sound quality and work best when playing music or videos over Bluetooth. The purpose of hands-free is to make voice calls. The audio may not be heard when you select stereo when you select the calling application you are using, depending on the calling application you are using.
When you first pair your Cisco Headset 730 with Windows 10, you may notice that your headset appears twice in the list of Bluetooth devices when you pair it. As soon as you pair the Cisco Headset 730 with your headset, audio will be displayed beneath the headset’s name. If you choose the other Cisco Headset 730 entry in the Cisco Headsets mobile app, your headset may not properly pair with the Cisco Headsets mobile app. When this icon appears, it usually means that the Bluetooth entry is incorrect.
Before you pair the headset with the Cisco Headset 730 again, if you have accidentally selected the wrong entry in the Devices menu, you must remove the connection from it.
My headset can’t connect to the Cisco Headsets app
Two Bluetooth® standards are supported by the Cisco Headset 730. There is a traditional Bluetooth connection that is used when it comes to content such as audio files and music. As a means of communicating with the Cisco Headset 730, the Cisco Headsets app makes use of Bluetooth Low Energy. Bluetooth Low Energy allows data to be transmitted back and forth between the headset and the computer without requiring a lot of battery power, unlike traditional Bluetooth connections. As soon as your headset is put into pairing mode, it tries to connect to both frequencies of Bluetooth as soon as you put it into that mode. Your mobile device only searches for regular Bluetooth connections when you connect your headset via your mobile device’s system settings in order to connect the headset to your mobile device.
It is possible to connect to Bluetooth Low Energy frequencies as well as traditional Bluetooth frequencies if you have iOS 13 or later installed on your computer. In order to connect to the system settings and app, Android devices or iPhones with iOS 12 or earlier must be connected separately to the device.
If you are having trouble connecting your headset to the Cisco Headsets app, you may want to try these steps.
-
The Cisco Headsets application should be open when you reboot your headset.
-
For your headset to be put into pairing mode, slide up the Power/Bluetooth switch and hold it for two seconds. Later, tap Retry in the Cisco Headsets app in order to try it again.
-
If you are using a mobile device, reboot it.
Update your headset firmware
The Cisco Headsets mobile app, Cisco Accessory Hub, Webex, a Cisco IP phone (firmware 12.7(1) or later), or Cisco Jabber are all ways for you to upgrade your headset firmware. In the Cisco Headsets mobile app, you can choose between several options. The process of upgrading a headset usually takes between 7 and 10 minutes.
- The first step in upgrading your system is to perform one of the following actions:
-
If you have a smart phone, you can pair your headset to the app by opening it on the phone.
If you have a low battery in your headset, then you cannot upgrade it with the Cisco Headsets app. Before you upgrade your headset, make sure that it is fully charged.
-
You can use the USB-C cable to connect your headset with your Cisco IP phone by using the USB-C cable.
-
Make sure that the USB-C cable is connected to your headset so that it can be connected to a computer using Cisco Jabber.
-
The headset should be connected to a computer through the USB-C cable using the Webex App on the computer.
-
The Cisco Accessory Hub provides a convenient way to connect your headset to a computer using its USB-C cable.
Cisco Accessory Hub can also be used to update your USB HD adapter if it has been installed previously.
- Please follow the instructions on the screen to complete the process.
Your headset’s ear pads play an important role in the way you experience your headset during use. As well as providing comfort and grip, they also isolate the sound of your headset. As you use your ear pads over time, there is natural wear and tear that occurs, but they can be easily replaced when necessary.
- Press down on the old ear pad with both hands and rotate it counterclockwise by rotating your hand as you do so.
- Take off the old earpad from the speaker by pulling it away from it.
- Place the pins on the inside of the new ear pad so that they are aligned with the notches on the headset.
- In order to use the headset, place the ear pads on it. It is important that you place the ear pad pins in a position that is flush with the headset notches.
- Turn your headset clockwise until you hear the pins click into place while firmly pressing down on the new ear pad.
Clean your headset
Cleaning your headset may be necessary from time to time.
- Soft, dry cloths can be used to wipe your headset’s headband and ear cups.
- Optional: Clean the headset gently with a soft, clean, lint-free cloth after applying a small amount of a non-alcohol cleaning agent. The use of a 70% solution of acetone should be avoided, as it may result in the device discoloring or clouding over time and will most likely deteriorate its integrity.
You can disinfect the headset at your own risk by using a 70% solution of isopropyl alcohol to clean it, if necessary.
In order to replace the ear pads on the headsets, replacement ear pads can be ordered from the manufacturer.
The USB-C port, the 3.5 mm jack, and the ear cups of your headphones shouldn’t be exposed to moisture.
It is not covered by our warranties or product guarantees that damage caused by cleaning or disinfecting your Cisco products will be repaired.
