Troubleshooting audio with USB extenders in zoom app
There may be an issue with the audio reception when using a USB over CAT5 Extender, such as those offered by Gefen or Crestron, and a Revolabs UC-500 or Jabra 810 speakerphone, including those running on Mac OS X version 10.12 (10.12.4, 10.12.5 or 10.12.6 beta 4) as well as a USB over CAT5 extension.

How to troubleshoot audio with USB extenders
Apple and the associated vendors are working closely with us to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Whenever Apple or any of the vendors affected by this issue release an update, we will update this article accordingly as soon as it is available. The following mitigation options are available until a permanent fix can be released.
Option 1: Change to 24 Bit Audio (For Revolabs Devices Only)
Those who are experiencing problems with Revolabs UC-500s or other Revolabs products may find a solution by following the steps below.
-
Within the Mac application list, you will find the Audio Midi Setup application under the Utilities folder.
-
On the left hand side of the screen there is a list of devices. Select the Revolabs device from the list.
-
The format should be changed to 24 bits.
Option 2: Utilize Mac OS X Version 10.11
There does not seem to be an issue affecting Mac OS X versions 10.11 and earlier. If you haven’t had this problem resolved yet, please do not upgrade to Mac OS X version 10.12 yet.
Option 3: Utilize USB Extenders not Impacted by the Issue
According to the information I have found, this issue does not seem to affect the following USB extenders:
-
Icron USB 2.0 Ranger 2304
-
Icron USB 3.0 Raven 3104
