Troubleshooting Webex Announcement Spaces

Announcement spaces in Webex need to be troubleshooted.

A Webex Announcement Space does not display the visual modifications that have been made.

When the Announcement mode is enabled, the room moderators will be able to limit the creation of new content to the space moderators, which will immediately modify the space settings.
As for the rest of the participants, they are only permitted to consume the content. This mode may be turned off by moderators in order to return the space to its normal use once it has been activated.

As part of the new content, you will find, among others:

• Messages posted on the internet

• Files to be posted

• Use whiteboards to create presentations

• Meeting schedules

• Make a call

• Connect to a Webex board

Solution:

• Using outdated clients may result in visual modifications not being visible, and error messages may not be descriptive. Keeping your clients up-to-date is best practice.

• We are in the process of developing developer APIs and will release them shortly. Participants may be able to create new content via APIs during this short window to circumvent announcement mode.

• Space moderators, such as bots and integrations, will be able to create new content as well
