Use your Webex site in Modern View
You are able to utilize the Modern View of your Webex site as a dashboard from which you may start new meetings and webinars, participate in future events, webinars, and training sessions, and schedule new meetings and webinars.
Modern View
If you utilize Modern View on your Webex site, you can access the controls of your site that are most frequently used directly from the dashboard. Meetings in your Webex Personal Room can be started quickly, and you can also simply join upcoming events, meetings, and training sessions, as well as plan new meetings.
When seen in Modern View, the home page is the dashboard. You can get there at any moment by selecting Home from the list of options on the left side of the navigation bar.
It is possible that future versions will update Modern View to include new and existing Webex site functionalities that were previously only available in Classic View. Please refer to the Cisco Webex Modern View Support Matrix for any more details.
When you sign in to your Webex site with an account from Facebook, Google, or Microsoft Office 365, that account is used going forward as your usual sign-in option. These sign-in capabilities that are provided by third parties can be disabled by the administrators of the site.
Personal Room
Only locations that make use of the Webex Meetings service are eligible to use the Personal Room feature.
You can start a meeting in your Personal Room by selecting Start a Meeting from the Personal Room area of your dashboard. This will allow you to begin hosting meetings in your Personal Room. Visit Start a Webex Personal Room Meeting in Modern View for additional details and information. Configuring your settings to allow you to attend meetings in the manner that is most convenient for you should be done before the start of any meeting. Choose how you want to join Webex Meetings from your own Webex site for further information on the subject.
To view additional methods for joining a meeting in your Personal Room, such as how to connect via phone or from a video device, select the option that reads More ways to join.
You can copy this information by selecting the Copy symbol that is located next to your Personal Room name. Then, you can paste it into an email or a conversation.
Join a meeting
You can enter the number or Personal Room ID for the meeting, webinar, event, or training session that you want to join in the text box that is labeled Search for recordings and meetings. This will allow you to join the event. Select the button once you have entered the number of the event, meeting, or training session as well as the Personal Room ID in the text box.
Within the Personal Room link is where you’ll be able to locate the host’s Personal Room host ID. For instance, if the link to the Personal Room is company.webex.com/meet/jparker, then jparker would be the ID for the Personal Room.
In the email invitation that you received, you will find the nine-digit meeting number.
You can enter a room that you’ve recently joined by selecting one of the profile pictures that appears in the list of Recent Personal Rooms.
You may also personalize your list of Recent Personal Rooms by “pinning” the rooms that are the most significant to you to the top of the list. To pin a Personal Room, move your mouse pointer over the profile photo of the person whose room you want to pin, and then click on the pin icon that appears on top of the profile picture. After you click the icon, it will be solid orange instead of the previous color.
You are required to enter the meeting password before you are allowed to participate in a meeting to which you have not been invited.
Once you have joined the meeting, the details of the meeting will become visible on the Meetings page of your Webex account. Visit Join a Webex Meeting for additional information on how to participate in meetings.
Schedule a meeting
You are able to start a meeting, plan a meeting, or schedule a webinar directly from the home page.
When you choose to Begin a Meeting, a meeting will immediately begin in the Personal Room that you have chosen. You can decide how you wish to join the meeting by clicking the arrow next to the drop-down menu and selecting either the Desktop App or the Web App option.
Select To enter the details of your upcoming meeting or webinar, navigate to the scheduling page and select either the meeting or webinar option from the drop-down menu. After that, choose the date, time, and length of your next conference call or webinar.
Choose Start at the bottom of the screen to get your meeting or webinar started right away, or choose Schedule to choose a date and time for it in the future. See How to Schedule a Webex Meeting and How to Schedule a Webex Webinar for additional details.
Upcoming meetings
You can click View all meetings in the lower left corner to see your list of upcoming meetings, webinars, events, and training sessions. This will allow you to see more upcoming meetings, webinars, events, and training sessions.
To view the page dedicated to your personal Webex meetings, pick Meetings from the menu located on the left side of the screen. You have the option of sorting the list of your meetings, webinars, events, and training sessions so that it displays just the meetings that are planned to take place within a certain time frame.
Search for meetings and recordings
You may search for your scheduled meetings as well as recordings of meetings that you wish to play back by using the search box that is located at the top of the page.
Edit profile
To make changes to your profile on your Webex site, go to the upper-right corner of your site, click on your name, and then click on the option labeled “My Profile.” You can change or manage the People Insights information that is utilized in your meetings and webinars by going to the page titled “My Webex Profile” and selecting the option to “View my People Insights profile.” You also have the option to pick Edit My Profile, which will allow you to make changes to your first name, last name, and profile image.
Click the Edit button to make changes to your password or email address.
Recordings
By selecting Recordings from the left navigation bar, you will have access to all of your previous recordings. On the page titled “My Recorded Meetings,” you’ll see a list of all of the Webex meetings, webinars, events, and training sessions that you’ve hosted as an organizer. Recordings that were shared with you by other hosts will also be displayed on this list.
Webex will start making your recording as soon as the meeting or webinar comes to a close. During the time when Webex is processing the recording, the status will indicate that it is Generating.
Webex offers the following information for each recording that it hosts:
- Name
- Security settings
- Date and time stamp
- Duration
- File size
- Format
On the page titled “My Recorded Meetings,” you have the following options:
- Play or Download a Webex Recording.
- Rename a Webex Meeting, Webex Event, or Webex Training session recording.
- Share a Webex Recording.
- Delete or Restore a Webex Recording.
You can make transcripts available for recordings by navigating to Preferences > Recordings and checking the box next to Recording transcripts.
Preferences
You can make changes to your settings at any time by selecting settings from the menu located on the left side of the navigation bar. On the page labeled “Preferences,” there are five tabs: “General,” “My Personal Room,” “Audio and Video,” and “Scheduling and Recording.”
You have the ability to change your time zone, language, region, and linked accounts by clicking on the General page.
You are able to view meetings held in the Personal Room, including meetings scheduled on calendars hosted by third-parties. Personal Room meetings look the same as scheduled Webex meetings regardless of how you choose to schedule the meeting, which includes the following options:
-
-
Google Calendar,
-
Cisco Webex Meetings Scheduler,
-
Cisco Webex Productivity Tools, or
-
Cisco Meetings Desktop app
-
On the tab labeled “My Personal Room,” you have the option to change the name of your Personal Room, view the link to your Personal Room, modify your conduct PIN, decide whether or not your Personal Room will lock automatically, select whether or not others will be able to conduct meetings in your Personal Room, and configure your notification preferences. See the article on how to set personal room preferences in the modern view of Cisco Webex Meetings for more information.
We recommend that you start your meeting from the Meetings app rather than from a video device if you have it configured to automatically lock 0 minutes after the conference has begun. This is because the setting will take effect immediately. If you begin your meeting on a video device, you won’t be able to open it and let other people join after it’s started. Visit Find Your Cisco Webex Meetings Version Number if you want to learn which versions you’re currently utilizing.
On the page labeled “Audio and Video,” you have the ability to make changes to the settings for your audio connection type and entry and exit tone, change the numbers associated with your Call Me feature, choose whether or not you want to show guests a toll-free number and a global call-in number, and add information about your video systems. To acquire further information,
On the Scheduling tab, enable automatic sharing of recordings and give other hosts the ability to plan meetings on your behalf. Only the meetings that are scheduled using the Modern View will have their settings taken into account, with the exception of those for Meeting type and Scheduling authorization. To acquire further information,
Within the Recording tab, you have the ability to customize the screen layout for new MP4 recordings as well as generate transcripts automatically for any new MP4 recordings you make. To acquire further information,
Insights
The Insights area of your dashboard will provide you with a weekly summary of your meetings if you are acting in the capacity of meeting host.
In order to access to the Insights page, select Insights from the left navigation bar.
On the Insights tab, you can view information such as the number of meetings that you held, the total meeting minutes, the average number of attendees for each meeting, and more.
Support
You can access the Webex Help Center by choosing Support from the menu on the left side of the navigation bar. You will also be able to browse for assistance articles, read release notes, view tutorial videos, and talk to a support agent at that location.
For sites that are managed by Webex Control Hub or for sites that are managed by Webex Site Administration and are linked to Control Hub, individualized support and contact information may be displayed. Get in touch with the administrator of your site for any additional information you require.

Other teleconference services are not compatible with Webex Personal Room meetings if the Other teleconference service audio connection type is selected in the Preferences > Audio and Video section of the interface.
