User and Workspace email conflict in Hybrid Calender Service in webex
It has been determined that there is a finite number of email conflicts between Workspaces and Users within a limited number of Webex organizations across which we have done research. It will be helpful if we can get the organizations who have sent the emails to resolve the conflict in the process of cleaning up this mess.
Throughout the year, one of the features that we are implementing in production is a mechanism that disqualifies the creation of an account if its calendar email matches an email address that already exists in our Webex Identity database, starting June 1, 2022. The mechanism described above applies both to the creation of a User account and a Workspace account.
The deadline for resolving the email conflicts internally is October 1, 2022, and we will give you up to two months to resolve them. We need to decide when to take action operationally.
It is expected that Webex Operations will take the following action to resolve the email conflict after this date if there has been no action taken to resolve it. The Webex Operations team will remove the email from the Workspace account if there is a conflict between a User email and a Workspace email. As a result, features like the ability to book a room and join meetings with a click of a button may not work properly.
Email, Webex App, and in-product messaging in Control Hub will be used to directly contact all impacted organizations about this issue.
