Using chat mentions and slash commands in Zoom
Using a chat mention, you can inform a certain user in a channel or group chat. A notification will be sent to the users being mentioned, unless they have changed their notification settings. You can also use chat mentions to link channels.s.
You can type a forward slash (/) in a 1-on-1 conversation, channel, or group chat to perform an action quickly.
Chat mentions
If you enter several consecutive mentions, a space is automatically added. However, in all other cases, there is no space automatically added.
@all: Notify all members of a channel, regardless of whether they’re active. It is necessary to confirm before notifying all members of a channel when using @all.
@[user’s profile name]: Notify a user who is a member of the channel. Click the mention after sending the message to start a direct chat thread with the user.
Insert a link to another channel by using #[channel name]. Members of the linked channel will only be able to access the link. Inserting #General, for instance, will link to the channel titled General. The link will only be available to members of the General channel.
