Using Join Personal Meeting ID with a Zoom Room
Users can now choose to display a join link for each of their Personal Meeting IDs (PMIs), using the option Join Personal Meeting ID, which makes use of the feature Join Personal Meeting ID to display links for every PMI that they have, which can be inserted into the Location field within their Zoom profile on the web portal. It is important to note that under the Meet Now button on the Zoom Room controller, there will be a PMI link displayed when a contact is selected from the contact list.
As you can see from the screenshot, the Zoom Room can easily locate the user’s PMI and join it.
Notes:
-
There is already a desktop client for Zoom that provides this functionality. Described in this section is how the Zoom Rooms implementation of this feature will work.
-
A valid PMI URL must be included in the user’s Location field. This URL must be detectable by the system, as well as being populated in the Location field so that users can select the tap-able PMI link when they select the Location field.
