Using the audio library to customize audio in zoom App
Admins and users can choose, record, and upload custom audio in the Zoom Phone audio library. As an alternative, text can also be converted to speech if you want an easy and quick way of generating audio.

Note: Internet Explorer does not support recording custom audio.
Limitations of the audio library
Take note of the following limitations before utilizing the audio library:
- Audio files or recordings can be stored in your audio library up to 100 times.
- Other admins’ and users’ audio libraries will not be visible to you and you will not be able to choose from their audio libraries.
- Custom audio can be played by admins through the extension’s current settings. The current greeting prompt can be played when viewing the settings of a call queue, for example.
- Users’ custom audio files can be played, downloaded, renamed, or deleted by administrators.
How to access the audio library
You can customize the audio setting by finding it. This article explains how to do this:

Following the steps below, you will be able to customize an audio file after you have located the audio you wish to personalize.
How to select from existing audio
You can select existing audio files from your audio library if you previously recorded audio, uploaded audio, or converted text to speech.
- You can access the audio library here.
- Click on the audio file you want to play.
- The audio file display name can be edited, the audio can be played, the audio can be downloaded, or the audio can be deleted.
If you prefer, you can record custom audio, convert text to speech, or upload audio files.
How to convert text to speech
If you want to generate audio quickly and easily, you can convert text to speech.
- Listen to the audio library.
- Click the Add Audio button.
- Choose Text to Speech.
- Type the information as follows:
- Audio Name:
- Your audio library can be more easily identified by a display name.
- Voice:
- You can choose a dialect or language and a male or female voice from the drop-down menus.
- Message to play:
- Enter the text you wish to have spoken.
Tip: - Please make sure to save a copy of your message before editing it.
- You can preview the audio by clicking on Play at the bottom-left corner of the text box.
- Once the text has been converted to speech, click Add to add the audio file to your audio library.
How to record custom audio
Using the Zoom web portal, you can record custom audio directly. A working microphone is required for recording.
Note:
IE does not support recording custom audio.
- Visit the audio library.
- Click on the Add Audio button.
- On the Computer tab, click Record.
Note: - Let Zoom use your microphone if your browser prompts you to do so.
- You can adjust your microphone volume by following the instructions on-screen, then click Next.
- To begin recording, click Record.
- To stop recording, click the red stop button.
- Select one of the following options (optional):
- Play icon:
- Listen to the recording.
- Rerecord:
- If you are not satisfied with the result, record again.
- Download:
- Create a WAV file from the recorded audio.
- The recording will be added to your audio library when you click Add.
- To use the recording, click Use.
Your Zoom Phone’s audio library will be updated with your recorded audio.
How to upload an audio file
You can upload your recorded audio to the Zoom web portal if you have already recorded it.
Tip:
By following these steps, you can re-use an audio file that you previously recorded and downloaded using Zoom’s web portal.
- The audio library can be accessed here.
- Select Add Audio.
- Next, click Upload.
- Select a file to upload.
Note: - Press the ? Button. This will display the audio file requirements. It is still possible to upload and play a file that does not meet the requirements in the web portal, but it will not play when someone calls in.
- To use audio, click Use.
For future use, your Zoom Phone audio library will be updated with uploaded audio.
