Using the Cornerstone Learning Suite integration in zoom app
The vILT integration offering on the Edge Marketplace allows you to configure Zoom as a conferencing service within the vILT integration to be used from within the Cornerstone Learning Suite.
Prerequisites for Cornerstone Learning Suite integration
-
A Pro account, a Business account, an Education account, or an Enterprise account
-
An account with Cornerstone On Demand is available.
-
In both Zoom and Cornerstone, you have administrative privileges.
-
It has been added to Cornerstone Edge Marketplace that Zoom vILT Integration is available.
-
In the Zoom Marketplace, Cornerstone Learning Suite has been pre-approved as part of the Learning Suites category.
Note: Please contact your Zoom administrator if you do not have pre-approval for the app.
Known Limitations
-
In Cornerstone, attendance on a meeting is not counted for those who attend using the Zoom web client. This limitation is not present in Zoom’s desktop or mobile clients.
-
There is a limit to how many Cornerstone environments can be integrated into a Zoom account at once. As long as your production environment and sandbox environment are separate, you will only be able to connect one of them at a time.

Integrating the Cornerstone Learning Suite on Cornerstone
Multiple providers are supported by Cornerstone. In this way, users can take advantage of both Zoom and Cornerstone instances with a single instance of Zoom. In Cornerstone Online Help, you can gain access to the vILT Connector Integration Guide in the Cornerstone user account as an administrator, and follow the integration procedure described in it.
Using the Cornerstone Learning Suite for Zoom
You will need to configure Events and Instructors on Cornerstone OnDemand so that you are able to use the conferencing capability in order to set up the integration properly. You will receive the following message from Zoom when you perform certain actions within Cornerstone:
Creating Instructors
Using the integration between Cornerstone and Zoom, you will be able to create an instructor account in Zoom once you have created the instructor using the Cornerstone integration. In the email, the user will receive an invitation to Zoom and he or she will have to click on the link in the email to activate their Zoom account.
Updating Instructors
It is not possible to update instructors through integration.
Creating Sessions
The first step in creating a class will be to create a session in Cornerstone with the integration, which will create a Zoom meeting on behalf of the instructor. They will be able to see this meeting on their list of Zoom meetings when they access Zoom.
Updating Sessions
In the event that you choose to update a session, the previous session will be removed from your meeting list, and a new meeting will be created in its place.
Note: There is no way to delete sessions from Cornerstone when using the Zoom vILT Integration with Zoom. In the unlikely event that you delete a meeting in Cornerstone, the instructor will need to manually remove the meeting from their Meeting List in Zoom by going to their meeting option.
Launching Session
The users of Cornerstone have the option of hosting sessions or attending them as attendees. By clicking on the time listed next to the webcast icon on the calendar, you will also be able to launch the webcast from there.
Note: It is possible to launch the Zoom meeting by clicking on the training title instead of clicking through to its details page.
Get Attendance
It is possible to use this integration in order to get the attendance data from a Zoom meeting that has been created in conjunction with the creation of a session.

How your Data is used
Your Zoom account is used by this app to access and use the following information:
-
User Information (name, timezone): Assist Cornerstone with the handling of instructors and the creation of meetings.
-
Meeting Information (topic, start time, duration, meeting number, meeting password, meeting invite, meeting participants’email, meeting settings): On Cornerstone, meeting details are displayed in the Meeting Details section.
The information below will be accessed and used by this app in order to provide you with the best experience:
-
Session ID: Associating Zoom meetings with Cornerstone event instances is one of the most common uses for this option.
-
Meeting Request Info (host email, alternative host email, timezone, start/end time, topic): An instance of Cornerstone can be used to create Zoom meetings for its event instances. There is only one place Zoom stores this information and that is within the instance of the Zoom meeting.
-
Instructor info (name, email): A Zoom user record can be created or updated for a Cornerstone instructor’s data by using this application. There is no way for Zoom to store this information other than as part of the account information of the user.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could submit a ticket for additional assistance or technical support.
